There is a dark beach somewhere in Valinor where the lights of Tirion fail to reach and the seabed shapes itself thick like a scar. There are darker souls that walk that length, that dive into that cold, wine-dark sea, tending to their lightless, crashing shadows.One bore himself a new skin the day he seemed to die.

You’re a vibrant young woman, Mari, but you have to understand – if you hitch your wagon to my star, you’re laying yourself down in a coffin.”
With a short, jagged sigh, he looked away.
