There is no echo of a physical voice to accompany. Essek is too far away to be heard.
"I am .. I'm alive. Currently pinned under some rubble. I cannot move, see, or cast. Breathing is difficult. Some broken bones. Please come quickly."

Yasha nods again and reaches into her pocket, pulling out the pouch of coins from Thoreau. She plops it down on the counter and just stares at it for a second.
Fjord blinks. “Did- did you rob someone or something?”
“Thoreau paid me a bunch of money as a bribe to break up with Beau.”
Still staring at the pouch, Yasha misses the way Jester’s tail starts to twitch rapidly back and forth until Fjord clears his throat. “Yasha, I love you and I know that can’t be the end of it, but you better start talking fast before I let Jester kill you.”

It had never meant anything to Essek. A tower sterile beyond his laboratory with spells and chalk and components scattered in a haphazard way he’d be embarrassed to show anyone else. A family he’d grown distant from almost a century ago. A religion and government he’d silently scorned by refusing their most sacred offer.
He had a lot of things he loved and missed about Rosohna, but the city had never been home until a house of eclectic adventurers with a giant, glittering tree moved in and asked him to dinner.

Summary
After Ozai's callous words about Iroh and Lu Ten's death, Azulon decided to strip Ozai of his parentage of Zuko and gave Zuko to Iroh as his new son and heir. Azulon died not long after, making Iroh the new Firelord where he attempted to bring in a new reign of peace and build his relations back up with the other nations, including an arranged marriage between Zuko and the Southern Water Tribe's Chief's daughter, Katara. But Iroh's attempts for peace give rise to a rebellion in the Fire Nation headed by Ozai and Iroh is forced to flee with Zuko. Who can restore peace to the world when Ozai declares the restarting of the war?

For a man that says he "works alone," he sure has a lot of partners. Doesn't mean most people know that though. And he'd prefer it stay that way.
It all starts with a minor mission in Bludhaven with Green Arrow and the Flash, where they get some help from Nightwing, a local vigilante they've grown to trust after a few prior occasions, although they didn't really know him personally. But, there's one person in the league who does. However it turns out he's amongst the few who hadn't gotten Nightwing's help on a League mission. So it was a bit of a shock to hear that his son was in the med-bay of their very much secret base. He's not as discreet as he'd have hoped.
And from there...they all just pile on.
