Summary
When an object is still, it requires a force to begin moving. When it's in motion, it requires a force to come to a stop.
Callie loses her footing when external circumstances led to her drifting away from her cousin. She realizes this only when things seem hopeless, and in her desperation she slides down a spiral that terminates in her getting kidnapped by the Octarians.
Dedf1sh is complacent with her situation within Kamabo, given that she does not know what she could complain about. When everything else shuts off, she waits along with the defunct machinery, and it's only when she is found and brought to the surface that she is forced to adapt to something entirely unknown to her.

In an attempt to make their complicated feelings for Eight adhere to this system, they create a report reviewing nearly every mention of her in their journal to current date. It's unfortunate then, that they submit this along with serious work reports for her to edit.

Absolutely fascinating use of the format that still manages to flow extremely well. One of the most unique fics in the fandom I've seen so far, not to mention that both Three and Eight are such fascinating characters even just from the bits seen in the fic!

In which Agent 3 has to deal with the aftermath of defeating DJ Octavio, a possible oncoming invasion, and her quickly depleting wallet, all while taking care of an injured Octoling who might want to kill her.

I believe this was one of the first Splatoon fics I read a few years ago, and looking back it's exciting to see how much has been created here just from the basis of Splatoon 1. This really feels like it's required reading, if only for the impact it's had on me. I still think about it regularly when it comes to recommendations so it's a crime I didn't bookmark it earlier, really.

Extremely well-written story dealing with the trauma Callie has incurred. The narration is absolutely visceral and really puts you in the headspace of dissocation. Also just generally extremely good Calf1sh moments of course! :>
