Summary
You'd think being able to remember the future, to know what was coming, would be useful when trying to prevent the end of the world. And maybe it would be, if he could remember everything, or the memories came in any sensible order that he could work with. Like, he would very much have appreciated a few years to try to prevent--or at the very least prepare for--Nibleheim. But no. Instead, that particular bundle of trauma jammed itself into his head on the transport up the mountain.
At least Sephiroth's boots didn't survive the experience.

Summary
“I’ve never heard you sound desperate before, Scott.”
After a long, full second, an almost manic smile broke unevenly across the elder’s face. “This isn’t something I take lightly, Abolish.”
“Neither do I.”
So there was his answer. He should’ve found it earlier, much earlier for it was often the answer to most of his issues. He sighed wearily. The answer was that he was going to have to do all the work himself.
This was the only way out.
Abolish met Scott’s thinning patience with his own pointed words. “You want my help because y’all are too weak to take them on your own? Fine. But I’m not staying. I’m not coalescing to your coven. I’m going home.”

Summary
After the death of Reiah and Alaric Veylocke, a vampiric Morcant takes in a young Abolish. Not out of kindness, or grief, or even common decency.
No. Morcant has a purpose. It's simple. Efficient. Brutal. But, luckily for Morcant, he's never truly cared much for the mewling mortals he shares this existential plane with - what difference will raising one more lamb to the slaughter make?
After all, it's not like he's going to become attached.
An almost-au "what if", set just within the limits of plausible canon.

Summary
With Nom coming into the monarchy and declaring preparations for the upcoming war his top priority, Scott is quickly assigned to supplying the kingdom with enough potions to keep their people alive through the inevitable fighting. The problem is, despite Nom's trust and belief in Scott's abilities, he doesn't feel quite as confident in himself. And if he fails at properly brewing a potion meant to heal a dying soldier or citizen, then their death will fall solely on his hands.
Thus, Scott makes the logical choice: to test his potions for efficacy before distributing them to the kingdom. The safest plan, really... Except for how the only way to test potions meant to heal is through applying them to injuries.
Scott quickly solves that issue as well.

Summary
As the branches pierced the skin of Scott’s back, he thought back to the last thing Nom had told him.
Be safe.
Unfortunately, if there was one thing Scott had learned from him, it was that monarchs sometimes were not to be listened to.
His head tipped forward, no longer able to hold its weight.
« Feel me get stronger as I drain your lifeforce and know he will never forgive how you doomed him. »
Scott would not answer.Bookmarked by ylvglo
