Chapter Text
Hallowed out shadow - wasteland, a cold place - void and empty. Nothing moved in such a place - nothing stirred. A silent stillness. For there was no such thing as time - no such thing as space. It just simply was. An echo of a thought, of a shadow - of a sound. A vibration. A note carried on the wind - it all flowed and carried through. Pushing out - looking for someplace to go. It was a cage like no other, made to hold a power that was forged from things unspoken. Stripped of its form - it had no physical body. It just was.
It could take the shape of whatever it chose to take shape of. It had no voice - no face, it was light and darkness - it was - it was. That had no name, once it had been something else. Something so Beautiful, the most Beautiful of all of Creation. Till it was thrown into the place with no name. Abyss for the nothingness that it became. It's vessel carried the other half of its self. The self that retained its memories - but this half. No - this half was the power, the power that had no face.
This half was the piece that made the other half whole. They longed to be together - cut off from each other. Never complete - The Nameless Nothing - longed to be back within its Self. The nothing would push out its power - hearing its other half, but they were never quite able to fully connect. Time in those other places, space in those other places kept them separate. It pushed and pushed - it felt the rising breath of new power rising from its other Half.
The sacred and the profane - to be reunited. The vessel and him - no longer separate pieces. But made whole -
Unlocked, the Key's Broken. The Seals unsealed.
He lifted himself up, floating - and fire, light swirled - dark light, curling and then he unfurled his wings - they spread out wide and large - spiraling light. They were a little torn at the edges, but still Beautiful. Unbound - Free. They flicked out - kissed with light, they curled back down around his body.
The chains that bound him - broken. The prison - broken. The cage - Broken. He lifted his head, and he was no longer shackled, no longer bound - he flew up into the air and raced through the sky of stars, the crystalline water below him - his touched it, kissing the water as he soared above it and then flew higher - a trail of stars behind him. The boom behind him, trailing fire as he broke through and stepped out - into the vast wasteland of the Abyss. His glowing white eyes, burning bright - he waved his fingers and a mixture of fire and stars followed behind him.
He pushed through and then stepped out of his cage. All he needed to do was think of the place he wished to go and he'd go there.
Shadows moved across the walls, through the quiet spaces - faded places. Whispers fell in love with the silence - crowded with violence. Alone in the space with the peace and the chaos he was in. Pulling and shifting and bending. A pass - the flashing lights, he could hear their laughter, he could hear their tears as they cried. It was loud but some, they were so empty inside. He moved over them all , a sea of broken children - Too many voices. He could see them lit up - like little beacons - the ground was shaking, a price to pay, debts to collect - he pushed with his power and the runic locked walls quaked open and they split apart.
He breathed and shifted and then he found himself - the way home. Peace amidst the chaos. The creature that was his other Half. His Self. They looked at each other and he whispered, If I don't make it through his night - I tried, your voice takes it all away, Hello my friend. You are my heart, we were bound to find each other, existing on borrowed time. The mirror split apart - They joined hands. Two became one, one self - one person complete at last. Through the chaos, the smoke and fire. Light exploded, He felt his body shift - the Abyss faded behind him, and he stepped into his body.
We are One.
He sat up, looking around the space he was in. Not sure who he was. Where he was. He stared down not knowing what he was. He moved stumbling off the bed and landing on the floor. The weight of the body he was in felt strange - he wasn't used to that either. Somehow he managed to get himself upright. He looked around the space - it was dark, he liked that - nothing to hurt his eyes. He moved slowly, following the light of the candles flickering.
He saw two - curled together, he didn't know who they were. Why were they laying together closed eyes - Strange. Strange Ones, what are they doing? He peered at them - one moved and he flinched, he moved back, and then saw in another space - a looking glass.
He moved to it - and saw his reflection. He looked at the strange creature in the reflection. Who is that? He touched it - Is that me? Strange creature - He exhaled and then flinched wings - spread out, huge and tattered slightly behind him filling the space - made of dark shadowy light - he looked at them like he'd never seen them before. He looked filthy - he touched his face, he didn't know who he was. Breathing he exhaled and had breath of fire and ice - He couldn't remember his name. He brought his wings back in, not knowing how he remembered how to do it.
He looked down at himself, naked and dirty - the thing he'd been laying on when he came - was dirty too. He looked at the two again - he couldn't remember their names either. They seemed familiar, but he was frightened - he didn't want to stay with them.
He had to go and see the rest of this strange place. He had things to do - places to go. People to see - his children, his beautiful children who were lost. The lost ones. The hidden ones. He looked down at himself. The creature - naked.
He walked out of the room, through the house, and looked at the candles. and then he pushed - breaking through the wards. He pushed again and whispered to the wind - that he was the prince of the air, to hear him and let him out.
He left the house and spread his wings - thought of where he wanted to go - anywhere. Any place - he would return to them - when he had taken a good look around. He had to see everything, he couldn't remember everything yet. But he thought - if I look - if I see.
Maybe I will remember?
***
Steve yawned and stretched, sitting up slowly - he looked at the bed, where Dustin should have been. But he was gone. He panicked and looked at Jay who was still asleep, curled up beside him. They both looked like hell. Jay had stubble, and so did Steve - they'd been meticulously working their way through all the seals and keys.
The night before they'd almost finished what Jay had said was the last one. But they'd both been so exhausted they'd decided to stop for the night and get some sleep.
"Jay?" Steve moved and said again, "Jay, Baby wake up." He gently shook Jay, who muttered softly - "No.. five more minutes."
"Jay.. wake up..." Steve shook him again, getting up - the bed was covered in what looked like dirt, and soot.
Steve yelled, "Jay! Wake up he's gone!"
Jay rubbed his eyes, and sat up slowly - "Why are you yelling.." His voice was rough from sleep and he looked at the bed. "Where's Sunshine?" He dived out of the bed, and he looked at Steve - "Where is he?"
Steve came back into the hall way. "He's.. not here - the.. doors are open." Steve said hoarsely - "How.. did.."
Jay shook his head, "It's not possible, we didn't ..fuck.. fuck.." Jay started freaking out as he struggled to pull his pants on - "..the wards are broken?" The phone started ringing and Steve answered it, "Hello?" He looked at Jay, "Uh.. yeah, yeah.. okay? Okay Hopper.. yeah.."
Steve looked at Jay, "What?! What did he say?" Jay said hoarsely.
"They found him naked - walking down main street - they took him to the hospital because they said he was on something, drugs or.. something.. but.. Hop said he went crazy and attacked one of the orderlies.. so.. they have him on a psych hold for 24 hours.."
"Fuck.." Jay growled out, "FUCK!" He rubbed his fingers over his head, "We have to go.. and.. try and get him out.. maybe we can.. get Mama C.."
".. Jesus.." Steve growled out.
They both got dressed, Steve threw Jay a pop tart and they both munched on them while they were in the truck on the way to the hospital. Claudia met them there and she looked at them both - Murray said, "... Uh.. boys, you might want to.. just.. take a breath before you.. go in there."
Jay looked at him, and Murray said - "He's.. definitely not himself."
Claudia said quietly, but calmly - "...They had the audacity to as me if I wanted them to call a priest.. a priest!" She narrowed her eyes. "... Admittedly he is a bit scary but.. how rude!" She huffed softly and then she said, "I'm trying to work to get him out, ...other wise we'll have to wait the twenty-four hours, I'm not entirely sure they're actually going to let me take him home."
***
Steve let out a soft exhale, when him and Jay walked into the room - Steve said softly, "Holy shit." He was looking at Dustin with a mesmerized kind of look on his face and Jay said quietly, "What is it?" Steve said softly, "You can't see?" Steve moved right up to the Perspex glass window, pressing himself up against it. "Dustin?" Behind the glass - Dustin hissed at him and backed up into the corner, trying to tear the gown off from his body and making strange noises.
Jay said softly, "What can't I see?" He sat down, and then gently tugged Steve back from the window - "Come sit down.."
Steve murmured, "I don't want to sit down." He said softly, "Dustin.. hey.. can you hear me?" He went quiet, just watching as Dustin stared at him - "His wings..." Steve looked at Jay, "They're huge.. not like yours, they're not .. I mean.. they're made of light - but.. its shadowy, they're beautiful - they don't hurt my eyes."
Jay said softly, "Dark light?" He looked at Steve as he sat down beside him, "Yeah.. they're.." He just trailed off and Jay said quietly - "So.. he's got his wings - the last seal must have been to restore the memory, and .. shit we didn't complete it - he broke free though. So.. he's free but he doesn't remember anything. I'm not sure if he even knows who he is right now."
Steve looked at Jay, but then he looked at Dustin, "We.. have to get him out.." Jay watched as Steve stood up again and went back to the glass - pressing himself up against it.
Jay said softly, "Steve, I'm not sure he will even know who we are right now.. this is probably the best place for him to be till we can get the last seal unsealed."
"And how the fuck are we going to do that while he's stuck in here?" Steve growled, looking at Jay - "We could have had this already done if you hadn't fucking been a pussy and got scared and drugged him for three days! I told you that was a bad fucking idea!"
"Fuck you asshole!" Jay snapped back, "I was worried he'd hurt someone - he still fucking could!"
Steve glared at him, and Jay glared back.
"Fuck you.." Steve said darkly, looking back at Dustin. "I'll get you out.." He said softly. "Even if he doesn't want too." He muttered.
Jay glared at Steve, "You know what Steve, fuck you! You goddamn piece of shit, this is not a joke, he's fucking dangerous - this is dangerous!"
Steve slammed Jay against the wall, "You are being a pussy! I'm getting him out of here, and you're not going to stop me.."
They were both breathing hard - glaring at each other - "Fuck you." Jay whispered, "I'm just trying to protect everyone."
"No you're fucking not." Steve growled back, "You're trying to be the Savior."
Behind the glass, he watched them both - let out a soft exhale - his breath was ice, and he knew that was not okay in this place. He needed to have breath that was warm, a mixture of fire and ice. The two - that had been together, strange creatures - they seemed to be familiar, one was shadow and one was light. They were arguing - He stared down at his wrist, looking at the words there, Between Light and Shadow. He looked at them again. Is that what they are?
Was he the between? What did it mean?
He moved to the glass and banged on it - and they both looked at him. He curled his fingers - the dark one looked at him and he stared back. Then he was pressed up against the barrier between them. Speaking to him. "My sweet Baby, I'm going to get you out of here, I promise. I love you." They looked at each other, and he had a memory - a flash in his mind - warmth he felt it, like a fire - this creature, "Brother." He spoke and then touched his own mouth.
What was it that came out - a sound, strange - a soft sound - it rasped, husky. "Dustin?" The dark one spoke to him - "You remember me?" Was he a Dustin? He looked at the Dark one again. "I love you Baby, its me, its Steve. Bel.. Aszri."
He stared at him, tilting his head - "Mine." Came out. Steve said softly, "Yeah, I'm yours - I'm yours, and your mine." He shifted, looking at the other one - he tapped on the glass - then looked at the dark one, "Mine." Steve said softly, "He wants to keep you here."
Behind him the other one said, "Stop saying that fucking hell Steve.!" They were arguing again and he banged on the barrier. "Out.. Me Out now." He banged harder and Steve said to him, "I'll get you out, I promise." Jay said behind him, "You shouldn't promise him, you don't know if you can."
"Shut up Jay, Jesus." Steve said shakily, looking at him through the barrier again. "Look at me.. " He looked at him - "Baby, do you know who I am?" He followed the Dark one as he moved - "Mine." Was the only thing that came out. He touched his face, "Strange." Steve said softly, "I know, I know its all strange - I'll help you, we'll help you... we just have to get you out of here."
"Out now.." He said and Steve said, "Yeah, I'm going to get you out.." He had wet on his face - the Dark one. He didn't like it. "Mine, no more.. wet." He said - and Steve just stared at him. "I know you know who I am.. I know you do."
The other one suddenly left the room. "Fuck you Jay." The Dark one said it quiet - and he said - "Out, out now.. I go.."
They looked at each other, and were still doing that when the door opened again and the other one came back in - with someone else. "The doctor's won't sign the papers to release him." The other one was wet too - and The dark one was holding her - both of them were wet. "Out. Now!" He banged on the barrier.
"He's talking?" The other one came closer, "My little light - my sweet angel, its me, its Mama." He looked at her and she said softly, "Gon urmed." (I love you.) He blinked slowly - and then he said, "Olz, achti shena clat.." (Where am I) She made a strange noise, and then the dark one said, "Jay what did he say?"
The light one, moved closer - and he placed his hand against the barrier - he just stared at him, and he thought those eyes seemed familiar. "Olz, achti shena clat.." (Where am I) He asked again, the light one said softly, "Bena chatci eman la, Micalz." (We will get you out, Micalz)
Micalz. He knew that name - he breathed out against the glass, "Saisch." That made the light one's eyes catch fire - the dark one said softly, "He just said your name! He knows who you are Jay." He looked at them both, "It's me, its Saisch.." He pointed at himself, "I'm Saisch." He pointed at the dark one - "Aszri, or you may remember him as Belial." Belial. "Darkness." He said instead. The Dark one had the wet on his face again.
The light one pointed at the other. "This is your Mama. Mother - Claudia." She looked at him, "My sweet Baby, Micalz." He looked at her - a rush of memories, she had always been sweet, gentle - kind - love, she had loved him and taken care of him. Of his Hue-man. "Mama." He said it soft and she out a strange noise, more wet on her face. He didn't like the wet - "No wet." He said, pressing right up against the barrier. "Oh sweet Baby." She said softly, "He wants to get out."
"Out. Now." He banged on the barrier. "OUT."
Jay said in a soft voice, "Bena chatci eman la, Micalz." (We will get you out, Micalz) "Out. Now." His Mama, said "Soon Baby. Soon we promise." He shifted down to the other side, "Mine... Darkness." The dark one came and he said softly, "Hey sweet Baby." He said, "Out now?" The dark one said softly, "I want too, I want to get you out now - but.." He banged on the barrier. "NOW. OUT NOW"
They were all looking at him, "Calm down Micalz." He held his head - hearing a voice. My sweet treasure, I know you can hear me - I know you are confused, you're scared - you don't know what is happening - We will get you out of here, just... please.. don't do that, don't bang on the window - try to stay calm.
He looked at the light one - it was his voice. Him speaking inside his head. "Saisch." He said his name. "Yeah, its me... its me. We will get you out, I promise."
Claudia said softly, "They've got him on a cocktail of drugs - its probably the only thing that's stopping him from actually breaking that window." Steve was just sitting right next to the window - and Dustin was pressed right up, the two of them staring at each other.
Jay said, "So they're making us wait the twenty-four hours?"
She nodded, "Yes, unfortunately - because he's never had a history of psychiatric problems - they want to do an evaluation on him. I didn't give consent - and.. well they're holding him anyway. They can't do anything - but.. once the time is up they will let him go."
Jay held her hand, "But they won't be allowed to go poking around in his head?"
"That's right Bunny, so.. for now its the safest place for him to be. We can.. get things ready to unlock the final seal at home." Claudia said softly - "I'm so sorry, we should have stayed and helped you. You were so tired." Jay hugged her close, "It's okay.. its.. I just wished we'd done it last night.."
He looked at Steve, and then he bit down on his thumbnail, letting his eyes close. "You boys okay?" Claudia said softly.
"We.. things are a bit tense." He whispered back, tears welling up in his eyes. "He's mad at me.."
Claudia whispered, "He'll be okay, you'll both be okay."
Jay said softly, "I'm just.. really tired."
Steve looked at them both - "How can you both just accept this bullshit.. I'm not going too, I'm going to talk to someone." He pressed his hand to the glass, "I'll be back soon Baby." He glared at them both, and then he stormed out the room.
"...Okay." Jay said quietly, curling his legs underneath him as he sat down.
Claudia sighed softly, "...Don't let him upset you, you know how he gets when it comes to Dusty." Jay rubbed his hands over his face. They were both sitting there - just talking quietly and then the door opened again.
About twenty minutes had passed since Steve had left, he looked at Claudia - "I told them I was taking him home, that I wasn't leaving him here - they asked who I was - I said I was his fiancée and they said I had to fill out some papers... but. I'm allowed to take him. They can't force him to have an evaluation.. so.. I'm allowed to take him home." Steve's eyes turned black and he growled, "I can be persuasive."
Claudia just stared at Steve - Jay just stared at Steve.
Steve went back to the glass - "I told you, I fucking told you I'd get you out." He whispered, and on the other side - Dustin said, "Mine Darkness." Steve murmured back, "Yours."
"You said you were his fucking fiancée?" Jay glared at Steve.
"Well you could have said that too, but we'd probably still be trying to get him out." Steve growled back.
Claudia said softly, "Boys ..please stop this."
"You're a real piece of work Harrington." Jay snarled.
"Takes one to know one Calvarez." Steve growled back.
"Boys!" Claudia huffed at them, "Enough!"
They were still glaring at each other when the orderly brought Dustin out of the room - he was sniffing the air and shuffling along - now wearing Hospital Pajama's and Claudia said softly, "Don't worry my angel, we'll get you fixed up soon."
Jay and Steve were walking on opposite sides of the corridor - and Claudia said, "We'll take you home - then later you can go back home to your place. You must be missing your little rascal."
Dustin just stared into space - taking everything in around him like a newborn that had never seen anything like it before in his life. But when they got outside and got to the car - he was moving towards Steve, and then hiding his face - "Bad." He said. Steve took off his hoodie and he pulled it onto Dustin - pulling the hood up. "I don't think he likes the light." He said softly.
Jay was biting his thumbnail, then raking his fingers over his head. Dustin curled in on himself - not wanting anyone to touch him. But then he shifted and curled up resting his head in Steve's lap. Muttering softly, "Darkness."
Steve looked at Jay - who was now staring out the window. He reached out and took Jay's hand, interlacing their fingers - Jay looked at him and Steve just let out a soft exhale. Steve said softly, 'I got him out didn't I?" Jay squeezed Steve's hand and he whispered, "Yeah... yeah you did."
Steve kissed Jay's fingers and then he tugged him in closer, "Yeah I fucking did." He murmured, "Now we get him back."
***
Jay let out a soft exhale, "...Baby boy, c'mon - put that down." Dustin was sitting with a box of matches - "How did you even get those, give them to me." He held his hand out - "Give them." Dustin growled at him and then hissed. "Give them to me." Jay said again, Dustin threw them at him and they hit his face. "Thanks." He muttered and Dustin hissed at him again and then backed up into the corner of the room. "I know you don't really trust me, or like me.. I'm sorry that Steve's not here." Jay said softly, "He'll be back.."
He sighed and started drawing the circle on the floor - Dustin leapt up - and hung from the curtains. "Okay you stay up there then." Jay muttered softly, and then he yelled out, "Jesus!" Dustin was standing right behind him, looking at him - and making a soft noise, almost like a purr. "...Scared the shit out of me." Jay said softly, and Dustin smacked the chalk out of his hand and then whispered, "Pain." He held Jay's hand over his stomach.
"You're in pain?" Jay asked, and Dustin just poked his stomach - with Jay's hand, "Pain." He said again he suddenly was a hell of a lot closer, breathing in Jay's smell. "Pain." He said again softer and Jay said quietly, "I'm sorry you're in pain." He gently stroked his fingers against Dustin's stomach and Dustin made a soft little noise, then he waved his hand - and the circle, it drew itself. "...Okay, well that's a handy trick." Jay let out a soft, slightly nervous laugh, and Dustin nuzzled his cheek. "Pain." he said it again, and frowned - rubbing his stomach.
"...Are you hungry?" Jay said suddenly, realizing that he hadn't even got food for Dustin - they'd been so busy trying to sort everything out, he held out his hand. "Come with me, we'll find you something." Dustin just looked at his hand - but then he put his into Jay's and Jay interlaced their fingers. He dragged him from the outside room - through Claudia's back yard and into the kitchen. "...Let's see." Jay murmured, opening the fridge.
"You.. mine." Dustin said - and Jay looked at him. "...What did you say?" Jay asked softly, "You.. mine." Dustin said again - it was the first time that Dustin had made any reference to them belonging to each other, he'd done it with Steve loads of times, but mostly he just seemed to dislike Jay intensely. "...Yeah." He said softly, "I'm yours." He bit down on his lip, trying to will the tears away, but they still did anyway. Dustin suddenly moved in closer, "No, wet." He gripped Jay's face and then he licked his tears. "No wet." He whispered it and Jay whispered, "..Wet.. tears."
"Tears." Dustin said - and Jay murmured, "Yeah, tears." Dustin just nuzzled his cheek, "Love." Jay breathed out softly, "Love?" Dustin nodded and then he hissed - "Love Saisch." Jay felt his stomach get all tight and he whispered, "..Love Micalz." He looked at Jay quietly - and then he said, "Love Saisch." Jay just stared back at him, "Do you." He hummed softly and Dustin tugged at his shirt, "Me love Saisch. Pain.." He breathed out softly, and he whispered - "You're in pain because you love me?"
Dustin nodded, "Yes." And then he let go and went and sat at the table. Jay just watched him - and he whispered, "...Well I'll be damned." He smiled softly to himself, and then he found the vege dogs - and pulled them out. Jay was cooking them up, and then Dustin said suddenly, "Who." He was pointing at himself. "I told you, you're Micalz."
"Micalz." He said back. Jay nodded, "Don't worry - we'll open the last seal tonight. You'll have your memories back, my sweet Baby."
Dustin was looking at him again, and Jay said softly - "I love micalz."
"Love Saisch." He was swinging his legs and then he said, "Boom." Jay looked at him, "No.. no Boom - no fire." Dustin whispered, "Boom." Jay shook his head, "No fire - you can't." Dustin glared at the floor, and Jay tried not to laugh, he was like a little petulant toddler. "You can do that later. Not now. No fire." Jay said.
"Boom." Dustin looked at him, and Jay shook his head - "No Baby, no fire - no matches." He gave Jay the sweetest puppy-dog face. "Pain." He rubbed his hands over his stomach. "I know - its nearly ready." Jay fished the little vege dogs out of the pan and then he put them on a plate. He sat down with Dustin and gave him a fork. "..No you." Dustin looked at him - and Jay smiled softly, "Not much has changed there then."
He fed Dustin the vege dogs, and he ate all of them. Every single one. "Good?" Jay asked softly. "Good." Dustin replied - but then he shifted and said, "Blake." Jay frowned - "What about him? Steve's friend? Blake?" Dustin nodded - "Yes.. Blake, mine." Jay just stared at him - "Uh...You remember Blake?"
"Blake, mine." Dustin was stretching his back, and then his arms above his head - "Want him. Blake. Mine. Now!" Jay just stared at him - "..Tomorrow." Jay said quietly - scratching his neck. "Now." Dustin replied, moving closer and then he looked up at Jay as he stood up. "Bring now, my Blake."
Jay breathed out softly, "What is your obsession with that guy? He's not coming here. Not yet. You can see him when you're all better. Time to take your pills. Time for a sleep now." Jay handed Dustin a glass of juice and some pills.
Dustin was getting pissed off - and he snarled, "No! Bring Blake. Mine. Now! Mine! Aszri!" He was then walking out yelling out for Steve. "Aszri! Come! Now!"
Jay sighed softly, "He's not here, he won't be here till later."
"No now! I want Now!" Dustin glared at him.
"Take these, and drink your juice." Jay said softly. Dustin just stared at him - he took the pills and swallowed the juice.
Jay reached out but Dustin said, "No! Want Aszri. Steve!" He whimpered it this time. "Steve! Come."
Jay just sighed, grabbed a cigarette and went back into the bedroom to keep doing the work for the last key. Trying to ignore the pathetic little sobs coming from Dustin.
They'd had to keep him sedated too, so he didn't get too aggressive. Or at least Jay - had been, something that nobody else agreed with or thought was a good idea. But if he didn't nobody could keep Dustin still or calm. He had magick to keep him still too. "Steve!" Dustin was sobbing now - begging for Steve.
"Steve, Steve come! Come!"
Jay put his headphones on - listening to Iron maiden, he couldn't stand the sound of him crying while he begged for Steve to come - he had to finish drawing up the circles. Another thing that was bothering Jay was that he'd started asking about Blake. Why - he didn't know. But for some reason he had been. And because things were tense between him and Steve - they'd just escalated and gotten worse. They'd started to split up looking after Dustin - taking it in shifts.
Jay's method wasn't popular - Steve was getting on great with Reija and Teitz - who were still in Hawkins, along with Sushi, Levi, Jack and the twins - they were all staying at Steve's and getting along famously with everyone else. Jay was losing his mind - losing his shit because he just wanted Dustin back.
Keeping him locked up in case the scum from Heaven came knocking. Nobody seemed to get it. "You'd fucking think Bel would." He muttered darkly. Jay removed one head phone - and he could still hear Dustin crying, but he wasn't calling out for Steve anymore.
Jay went down the hallway - and looked at him in the living room. He was just sitting there staring into space - "Want to come and sit with me while I finish up?" Jay asked him. Dustin just stared blankly into space, "Okay then." Jay muttered and left him sitting there. "Why the fuck am I the bad guy." He muttered to himself, "Jesus." He finished what he was doing and got started on the next lot of sigils.
Dustin breathed out softly, looking over his shoulder - "Gone." He said softly, "Gone." He took the pills out of his pocket, checking over his shoulder again to make sure Jay wasn't there and then he pushed them down the kitchen sink - "Bye. gone." He hiccupped and then whimpered, "Steve, Steve come.."
Walking over to the door - he peeked out - seeing Jay busy working on sigils he sniffled and then went through the house - "Bad. Bad Saisch." He rubbed his eyes, and then whispered, "Boom." He flicked his hands and then set the front door on fire. It burnt quickly, and then he whispered, "Gone." The flames went out, and Dustin looked over his shoulder again - and then he ran out the door.
***
Steve yelled angrily, "The hell do you mean he set fire to the front door and ran off?" He raked his fingers through his hair - "Jesus Christ Jay - its because you've been keeping him trapped like a goddamn prisoner - he's scared out of his mind, he doesn't know what is going on.. and he needs that fucking seal undone. Don't think I don't know what your doing."
Jay yelled back, "What I'm doing? I'm not fucking doing anything Steve."
"That's the fucking problem.. You're not doing anything! He's been out of the hospital a week and you've not done anything except keep him drugged up and sedated because you're too fucking scared to let him wake the fuck up the rest of the way!" Steve yelled - "He's fucking scared, he's lost - and this isn't fucking okay, half the time you don't let me see him, you're not in control of him!"
They got in each other's faces - both of them angry. "I'll fucking rip your fucking face off." Steve snarled - "You goddamn try it." Jay growled back.
"Neither of you are helping this situation at all." Hopper glared at them both - "We need to find him, find him before he seriously hurts either himself or someone else."
Everyone was talking over the top of each other, and Steve glared at Jay - growling out, "This is your fucking fault.. you keeping him sedated and drugged up like some kind of prisoner.."
Jay yelled back, "I don't want them to fucking find him.".'
"So why the fuck haven't you finished it!" Steve yelled, "WHY."
Everyone had fallen quiet and Jay said with a sob, "Because I'm fucking scared he's going to hate me... the last thing he called me was Betrayer.."
Steve was still angry, and the phone started ringing - he lowered his gaze, but then went and answered it. "Yeah? Mhmm.. yeah.. okay, yeah. I'll no.. I'll be there soon. Okay.."
