Sokka’s silent. He sits up, looking over at Zuko as the movie drones on behind them. His eyebrows are slightly furrowed, freckles dotting his cheeks and hair down and Zuko’s struck yet again by just how pretty he is.
“I wanna know,” Sokka says, serious expression unwavering.

When Zuko brought up the idea of Sokka staying in the Fire Nation as a permanent representative of the Water Tribe, he wasn't thinking about all of the ways it could go wrong.
Zuko is emphatically not going to do anything about the way he feels. He's not going to stare at Sokka, and he's not going to spend any time alone with him, and he's definitely, definitely not going to think about what it would be like to hold Sokka's face in his hands.
Zuko's not going to do anything at all, because he can't shake the absolute certainty that that's the only way they both get out of this alive.

Sokka and his ragtag team are more than used to defending clients that most other defense attorneys would give up on; it's kind of their whole schtick. Of course, none of them would have ever expected that they'd be defending their primary rival on the prosecution, Zuko, or that the once proud prosecutor would be so willing to walk to the gallows for a murder he may not have committed. While Zuko is too proud to admit he needs help, Sokka knows there's more to this case than he's letting on. He'll just have to prove it to the judge --but just his luck, Zuko's father and prosecuting mentor are his opposition this time. (Wrightworth, but make it Zukka; inspired heavily by Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Turnabout Goodbyes, but there will be a unique mystery)
