Steven frowned. He had an imaginary friend growing up who followed him well into his teen years. Did he ever really leave? He must’ve. It wasn’t like he spoke to him anymore… right? The Hispanic thoughts in his mind sounded quite similar to those of his imaginary friend, didn't they?
“Jake?” He called out mentally.
For a moment, there was no response and he called the name again before he got a response he could barely hear: “Hola, Steven.”
Steven chuckled. “I must really be lonely to be making you up again… Or maybe my lack of sleep finally got to me,” he said out loud.
The thought chuckled back at him. “Well, I’m replying to you, aren’t I?”
“Yeah, you’re right. It’s likely the lack of sleep.”
“That’s not what I meant, but whatever makes you sleep at night, Steven…”
Or Jake has always been present even if neither Marc nor Steven are aware of it, and as Steven gets hired at the British Museum, he find that his imaginary friend has come back and is more sentient than he remembered.

Steven shrugged at that question before popping another cauliflower floret into his mouth to crunch on it mindlessly for a moment. Jake waited patiently. The aura between them was filled with warmth; they stood a short distance apart, almost able to sense the gusts of air exhaled into the space between them, their scents mingling - sweet caramel apple with tobacco musk, while they glanced at each other with a look of gentleness, devoid of any pretension. Two souls searching for their place in the universe, two parts of a heart yearning for the third, two complete opposites somehow drawn to each other, alone in their struggle against the bad.
Basically:
Marc is gone.
Steven wants to start over.
Jake yearns for Marc and fights his own envy towards Steven.Steven wants to build his very own life from scratch. However, when they’re split, there’s a little surprise awaiting. Turns out Marc had more than one alter. His name is Jake, he speaks Spanish and wears flat caps. Steven convinces him to stay with him and in between Moon Knight’s missions, he discovers that Jake is fond of sun-dried tomatoes and toying with Steven’s rings.

Peter Parker is both alone and lonely—his aunt and mentor are both dead and his friends don't remember that he exists. Peter is no stranger to grief, but the sudden loss of everyone he's ever known still hits hard. He doesn't have anything left aside from Spider-Man and he's mostly just aimlessly floating through life at this point. That is, until a certain system turns his new reality upside down. He really should be used to the chaos by now.
The Moon Knight System is on a mission. They're back in the States for the first time since the funeral and trying to cope as best they can—which is to say, not very well. None of them are good with kids, but Peter Parker is filled with a weariness that that they can relate to. They need help with the case that has Khonshu on his latest crusade and Peter needs help, well, generally, so why don't they help each other?
Matt just wants other vigilantes to stay out of Hell's Kitchen, thank you very much. It would also be great for his day and night jobs not to mix any more than they have to, but maybe that's asking for the impossible.
