I refuse to write bad father Bruce Wayne. There's nothing wrong with that trope, but the world has enough problems and I'm not into all that angst these days. Maybe later, who knows. But this fic isn't meant to be overly serious, this is a more FUNctional Batfamily. It does have an A/B/O theme, there won't be a lot of angst, and only enthusiastic consent. All the birds are stressed and Jason can tell, but he doesn’t quite know how to fix it since he will be skipping Gotham for missions for a couple months. Then it hits him, maybe he does know how he can fix this. And sure maybe just maybe Dick gave him the idea by accident, but no way Jason would ever tell him that!
So Jason gets to work and just a few days before he leaves he saddles his motorcycle and speeds from his crime alley apartment to Bristol. With a short explanation to Alfred and a promise he wouldn't tell Bruce, Jason sneaks through the halls and leaves a red wrapped and custom made gift box at the foot of their beds alongside very clear instructions to be however pissed they want (and to fuck with Bruce), an address for a safe house loaded with weaponry and enough explosives and pyrotechnics to make firefly blush, and a pocket calendar with each week highlighted in a different color.

Jon, completely unaware of his surroundings at first, finally reacts after acting in a fit of rage and despair, when he does, he discovers he killed every single man and criminal in the mission he was sent, when he was supposed to arrest them and bring them to the police. Completely broken by his own actions, he starts to think of himself as a monster, not worthy at all of carrying the "S" on his chest.
And then, when his best friend and unrequited love arrives at the scene, he believes Robin was sent to finish him, to arrest him or whatever Batman and the Justice League sent him to do.
Because they surely know Damian is, aside from kryptonite, his ultimate weakness.
He couldn't be more wrong as to why Damian is really there.
