After being traded to a new team, Dean thinks his biggest challenge will be finding where he fits in with his teammates - especially the catcher he's been paired with, Castiel. This is just one of the basics of running the bases, another one of the fundamentals that Chris’ father taught him, before he was even in little league. Chris had argued—why, he wanted to know, would I run straight into an out? And he’d had to learn that it wasn’t a choice, that when the person behind you is coming up on your spot, you run, and when you do, you’re also giving the both of you the chance to keep the game alive—no matter how small the chance.
Chris has never been good at pretending that it's not in his nature to act in bold strokes.
