It has been forty-eight hours since the Resonance Cascade.
The Black Mesa Research Facility is scarred beyond recognition. What had once been the largest single scientific institution in the world has been turned into a battleground, where humanity is fighting against both itself and the invaders from another world. The facility's staff have been nearly wiped out by their own military, which itself has been forced by the alien threat to withdraw, while a secretive special forces unit struggles in vain to cover up their failures.
Desperate to stop the invasion, the surviving Black Mesa staff make frantic plans to hold off their attackers long enough for one of their number to take the fight to the enemy. But the addition of a stranded Marine, a shadowy bureaucrat, a further intrusion, and an atomic warhead continue to add new developments to the ongoing crisis.
As chaos takes hold across the world, strange and unaccustomed alliances are formed on both sides of the dimensional rift, as the diminishing number of survivors try desperately to save what they can of their existence as hell consumes the earth.

Two decades have elapsed since the Resonance Cascade at Black Mesa, and a long-forgotten hero has resurfaced. Thrown into a train station with no recollection of her true history, 18-year-old Violet Rose accompanies her boyfriend, Aiden Calhoun, as they must navigate through City 17 armed only with sheer determination, adrenaline, a katana, a scythe, and a Snark as their pet. However, Violet quickly discovers that this reality contrasts deeply with the games she played during the False Reality imposed by the G-man. It's not solely the Combine and the Internal Peace Corperation she has to confront; they've allied with a faction once thought to be extinct.

Now, her mission is to dismantle both of these threats and restore order, joining forces with individuals she never imagined she’d team up with, and discovering a new family after losing her old one. Additionally, she forges friendships with people from the past, some of whom seem oddly familiar.

Claire Francois must now teach this upstart commoner, who appears to go by Rae Taylor, the proper ways to act in Bauer, while attempting to truly decipher who she is, why she does what she does, and why she keeps talking about 'Home' as if it were some far away place. Rae, formerly Orla, must hold out and come up with a plan in the scheming shadows of Bauer if she wants any chance of seeing her world and family again, all while continuing to work for Claire, and realizing they have a much deeper connection than she initially thought.
In Panama, Dr. Gustavo Freeman comes face to face with Melia Francois, Claire's long-deceased mother, whilst also facing evidence of string theory, and the yet-unknown to them threat of the Combine Empire that is now aware of Earth's existence. Time will tell, the currents are swirling... can Outlaws and Nobles truly find redemption?

Alyx finds herself duped on a new world with a mission. On a new planet in a new body, she must work with the local Freedom Fighters and help fix the wrongs of Dr. Robotnik and prepare the way for Humans to escape the Combine! She makes friends with a certain two Tailed Mobian and they must make it out of the city of Robotropolis. Will she be able to acclimate to the new situation? Will the Mobians really want more Humans on their planet after all the damage Robotnik has caused with the Roboticizer? Lota drama ahead! Multi POV 3rd person
This AU story is an attempt to mix my favorite elements with the old SatAM cartoon and the current IDW comic I'm reading. It's also to give the Humans a more interesting backstory and I am a Half-Life / Portal nerd. I tried to write this so either fan group can enjoy but this is geared more towards Sonic Fans. This takes place 15 years after the coup, Earth 2019 and Mobius 3239. There are OC's in this but mainly family and kids to flesh out more background. Starts out following Alyx but later many characters POV. No sexually explicit content. Blood and guts possible but not excessive. Tags update to reflect story, some omitted for spoilers.
