Sam can't say anything for a moment, too focused on the fact that this is the first time in years, since before he even left the 58 pararescue, that he's heard that voice.
Then, eventually, he gets the words out, "Hey, Emmy, it's Sam. Sam Wilson, what the fuck, you know who I am. I was talking with the Avengers and mentioned you and they'd like to meet you, maybe even add you to the team. Call me back or text me when you get the chance, please. I know you probably don't want to hear from me but they kept bugging me to call you. Miss you, Amelia. It was nice to hear your voice."Meanwhile, on the other side of the phone, Amelia watched the phone ring with the contact still saved in her phone as "Sammy" as she knows that he's leaving a message since this is the first time he's called in years. She's occupied herself with crappy Chinese food at the moment that she knows would taste better with someone else by her side to joke around with and fill the dim apartment with the light and warmth she once had in her life.
