    “I thought you didn’t do parties.” Someone says, beside him, and Din blinks out of his internal griping about the party.
    “On pain of death I do.” he says, dryly, unable to help his eyes as they drag up Luke’s body.
    “Of death?” The blue eyes twinkle in the low light.
    “-And contractual obligations.”
    “So you’re here against your will?”
    “Obviously.”
    “You weren’t looking forward to… seeing anyone here?”
    “I don’t need a shitty party to see people.”
    “Oh I guess that’s right.” Luke says, slowly, lip curling, “-you just invite them back to your studio.”
    Din glances around them as his pulse flares.
    “Surprised you’re not surrounded by admirers.” Din deflects.
    “What?” Luke asks, “-you don’t count?”

    Luke Skywalker is in the middle of an intense promo cycle for a few of his acting projects and about to release a new album, so maybe it's not the time to start an intense affair with an award winning photographer. Din Djarin has other ideas.

    Din Djarin and Luke Skywalker cross paths on Arvala-7, setting on a journey together where Luke tries to help this mysterious bounty hunter find his target.

    When the bounty turns out to be a Force-sensitive baby, the Jedi's loyalty to the hunter vanishes, causing Din and Luke to turn against each other - both determined to follow their own mission.

    Or: I made an au of luke and din finding grogu at the same time - unfortunately, there are a lot of misunderstandings. A lot.

    Pretty much the start of the original story. The part 1 to this fic is a tiny prequel, but this could be read as a standalone fic.

    “Luke looks at him like he’s precious, like his body has ever been meant for anything other than brutal efficiency, like his hands aren’t stained with blood and his shoulders aren’t heavy with impossible grief.

    Here, under Luke’s gaze, in Luke’s hands, Din feels like he can breathe for the first time.

    Din shudders a breath, anxiously waiting for Luke to say something or do something.

    ‘Force, Din,’ is all Luke whispers before he leans forward and closes the distance between them.”

    Din is seriously considering chucking the darksaber into the Living Waters and fleeing the Galaxy when he's told that a political marriage is required of him. However, it turns out that the Alderaanian Prince is rather easy on the eyes and Din isn't sure how, but he finds himself completely and utterly infatuated with the omega.
    Maybe this won't be so bad, after all.

    “Your thoughts. I can feel them. Force, Din, you don’t even know,” Luke huffs a humorless laugh, “Our bond, it’s… it’s weaker than it’d be with another Force user, but I can still see your thoughts when they’re that strong. I can… feel what you’re feeling,” Luke explains, unsure if he’s making any sense.
    Din’s hands freeze on his face and Luke feels a wave of both slight embarrassment and undeniable arousal through the Force.
    “You could… you mean you could see what I was thinking? Just then?” Din asks, his words slow as he puts the pieces together.
    Luke reaches his gloved hand to wrap around one of Din’s wrists and he holds his gaze.
    “Yes. All of it,” Luke breathes.

    Din gets bored during a meeting and doesn't realize that Luke can feel his thoughts.
    Yes, all of them.
