Evan Hansen had just finished typing out his letter for himself when Connor Murphy came up to him.
“No one’s signed your cast.” Connor stated with no preamble. He had the same eyes as his sister Zoe, dark and full of secrets.
“Yeah, I know.” Evan sighed.
“I’ll sign it.” Connor grabbed a marker, writing his name across most of the cast, “Now we can both pretend we have friends.”
There was a darkness in Connor’s eyes that made Evan uneasy. In a moment of bravery, as Connor turned to leave, Evan called out to him.
“Why pretend? I’ll be your friend. Here,” he pulled out his phone, “put your number in. I’ll text you”
Connor smiled softly, and Evan thought that he had never seen anything so beautiful. “Sure. See you around.” -

“It’s dangerous out here at night,” Remus wet his lips, suddenly aware of how dry they were, “and we’re quite far from the nearest town.”
The man in front of him continued to gaze up at him, eyes twinkling with a dangerous look, seeming to dare him to ask risky questions, to probe and let curiosity kill the cat. “What’s your name?” he asked, feigning ignorance to Remus’ concern.
“Remus.” He answered without a second thought to who he was telling this to, something about the other man made him want to lay himself out bare, secret’s spilling out into the night air, all the good and the ugly. Something about the other man was dangerous but Remus felt the blood in his veins ignite at the thought.
“Remus,” the man with eyes like the moon whispered, “I’m Sirius.”
