Summary
There's a lot of talk about a certain incoming freshman who will be joining Nie Mingjue's team, but Nie Mingjue doesn't work that much with new recruits on offense. As the defensive coordinator, Nie Mingjue has his hands full with his own responsibilities. Let Jin Guangshan salivate over his new star quarterback all he wants.
But a name on the roster of incoming freshman gives him pause the week before summer training begins. Lan Xichen. It's not a common name. Nie Mingjue does some mental math, then feels his knees crumble to dust with age as he places how old that child would be now. The math checks out. The Lan Xichen Nie Mingjue knew was six years old twelve years ago when Nie Mingjue was eighteen, which would make him eighteen years old now.
Funny thing time. Where do the years go, anyway?

Summary
"It's fine if you don't want to talk, but if it makes you feel any better, I wasn't informed of the reason for you being here. I'm not here to cast judgment or throw stones; they simply told me that you are here for anger management counseling, as ordered by the court, and…I would like to help."
Rolling his eyes, Nie Mingjue keeps his mouth shut. His eyes land on a basket full of toys made for annoying children who can't sit still for two seconds. It rests on a table between the light blue armchair Nie Mingjue sits in and the white armchair that he purposely avoided due to its closer proximity to Dr. Lan.
A minute or two passes in silence. Then, the psychiatrist tries again: "For transparency's sake, you should know that I am a mandated reporter. That means that I'm required to report to the authorities if you express anything that indicates you might pose a risk to the safety of yourself or others. Aside from that, anything that is said in our sessions will be kept strictly confidential."
Nie Mingjue is sentenced to court-mandated anger management counseling, and Lan Xichen is his therapist.

Summary
Xiao Xingchen reaches out, fingers brushing the back of Song Zichen's hand. It feels good, too, and he thinks about how, just a few weeks ago, these hands wouldn't touch another person. Is it alright that Xiao Xingchen is touching him now, like this? Would Song Zichen mind while he's asleep? An inner voice cautions against taking too many liberties and overstepping the boundaries of Song Zichen's trust. What if he wakes up and decides to no longer allow Xiao Xingchen to touch him at all?
There's some stronger, deeper compulsion within Xiao Xingchen that drives him to continue. It urges him to slowly pull down the covers. I coaxes him into untying the sash holding Song Zichen's sleep robe closed, and when it falls open, Xiao Xingchen quickly pushes his hands inside, resting his hands against warm skin. Song Zichen's breathing freezes on an inhale, and Xiao Xingchen stops moving, afraid he's woken him, but with a long sigh, Song Zichen resumes his deep cyclical breaths.
What's a Daoist to do when he can't sleep at night?

Summary
To Wei Ying's delight, Lan Zhan ties the belt around his wrists, binding them tightly at the small of his back.
"Lan Zhan," he sweetly complains. "I was behaving. There's no reason to take away my hands."
"I can never be certain with you."
Wei Ying tracks Lan Zhan's movements with interest as he reaches into his desk drawer, but his eyes widen with fear when he pulls out a wooden ruler. "H-hey! Let's not be hasty here! We can talk about this!"
"Enough talking." Lan Zhan's left hand smooths down Wei Ying's flank. Then, the ruler in his right hand comes down with a sharp crack! Wei Ying tries to crawl away, but the hand on his thigh has moved to his calf and holds it firmly in place. Another sharp smack! cuts through the office, followed by Wei Ying's cry of pain.
Lan Zhan hears. And he does it again.
And again.
And again.

Summary
I love you, Song Lan thinks, and squeezes his eyes shut. I love you, I love you, I love you.
When Xingchen speaks again, however, it is coldly neutral again. It is the way he sounds when he refuses the mouthfuls of stew that Song Lan cooks for him, and the slices of apples that Song Lan cuts.
“You should hurt me, Zichen.”
—---------------
After his suicide attempt, Xiao Xingchen is saved before he dies, but in his guilt, he still wants Song Lan to hurt him. Song Lan cannot hurt Xingchen, but neither can he deny him. Fix-it of sorts.

Summary
In that moment, he came to a decision. He would scratch that infernal itch one more time, satisfy his desires and curiosity, and put this whole torrid business to bed once and for all. And all he had to do to succeed was seduce Jonathan. Surely, if he had done it while drunk off his ass, he could do it with a fraction of the effort sober.
Dio chuckled to himself as he began plotting. Oh yes. Jojo would be his one more time.
~*~
After a drunken night in which Dio and Jonathan sleep together, Dio can't get that blasted Jojo off his mind. His solution: sleep with him one more time.

Summary
For centuries, the villagers surrounding the Qianlian Forest have been beholden to a fearsome creature. A once loved Prince was long ago cursed into a monstrous form, and ever since has required the sacrifice of maidens to ensure the safety of the forest and the people living around it. This forlorn tradition might have continued for centuries longer... but when it comes time for Lotus Pier to send a maiden as tribute, Jiang Yanli is chosen, and Wei Wuxian won't stand for it. His plan is simple; he'll send Jiang Yanli off to live the long life she deserves with her fiancé, and offer himself as a sacrifice to the Prince instead.
