Ino = Rokudo MukuroHe had died- honorably, he'd like to think, despite living as a villain and an assassin for over half a century- and that, as far as Xanxus had ever figured, would be the end of that. No heaven. No hell. Just life when you were breathing and nothingness when you stopped.
Except that it didn't, quite, turn out that way. Except he came back as the son of the kindest, sometimes saddest father in the world. In both worlds. A father that he knew, without a doubt, to be his flesh and blood. All at once, Xanxus had everything he'd wanted as a child. A home. A family. Stability. And he was going to fight like hell and beat down anyone who tried to take it from him, no matter what his age.
(In which Sakumo raises a son who speaks multiple languages from birth, all of them gibberish to the poor single father jounin, spits vulgarity with the same ease as he does his praise and burns with an unshakable determination to build himself a family that will not fall, no matter who or what is thrown against it.)
Sakumo is the best dad in every world. His language has certainly loosened up because of Kakashi though.
[“So,” he says, “Fifty six years you’ve known him, huh?”
And Kakashi grins, that big broad smile that Sakumo wonders if it started on another face, first, and that this face just has a second run at it. He grins and says, “Yeah. His name was Kyoya then. But not much else has changed.”
He remembers his five year old son, standing on the roof across from him, shouting at him, declaring them family, telling him he was the best dad in every world. Those eyes that were too old. That language that was too developed. That understanding that was too deep.
He does the simple math in his head.
“Fuck,” He mutters, “Fuck. You’re eighty?”]
Shikamaru had always been sure of two things for as long as he could remember. The first thing was that Chouji was, and forever would be, his very best friend. There was just no question about it. They had a loyalty that was born not just from compatible personalities and exposure to each other since infancy but from shared experiences. They had both endured similar things as children, had both endured the other truth of Shikamaru’s world.
Yamanaka Ino was crazy.
(While all eyes were on those strange ninjas that stood out, with flashy techniques and attire, there were those who woke up in this new world with their past lives and thought to embrace their new selves rather than cling to the old.)
Ino pushes and pulls the flow of Academy politics. Sakura calls her out.
[“If you keep this up, the only one they won’t trust around here is you, Yamanaka,” Haruno said. “And then it’ll be your back that’s left unguarded when you’re older.”
Ino’s smile came back and she shrugged her shoulders. Haruno’s hard expression held for another handful of heartbeats before she leaned forward, eyes softening somewhat as she said, “But I suppose you knew that too, didn’t you? You don’t want them to trust you, you just couldn’t bear that, could you? Not when it could mean you failing them and them getting killed because of it. Better they are wary of you and thus more careful when you’re around. Can’t have anyone get too comfortable, can’t have anyone drop their guard, can’t have anyone think of you as a trusted friend-” She stopped abruptly as Ino rose to her feet so fast that Shikamaru barely caught the motion.
Ino held the front of Haruno’s shirt in one tight fist and stood face to face with her. Shikamaru couldn’t see her expression, but when he leaned over he could see Haruno’s pale cheeks and the sharpness back in her eyes. Ino snarled something out but Shikamaru couldn’t make out the words. Haruno’s expression didn’t change as she replied, quiet and calm, and even though Shikamaru could make out her words, he couldn’t understand them.]

A man appears at the gates of Malfoy Manor.
Draco Malfoy isn't the average first choice for a hero sent back in time to save the world. Narcissa Malfoy, slightly surprised to see the grown man her eleven-year-old son could be, isn't the average first choice for his Horcrux-hunting partner either. Honestly, they're supposed to be on the other side in all this business.
But it cannot be denied that they're very efficient, especially given their quest is relegated to Narcissa's free time and Draco is relegated to a guest wing bedroom so his father and younger self don't interfere. Nor can it be denied that if the Dark Lord isn't going to show them loyalty and victory, then... well... Family First, after all.
Draco and Narcissa go on a very effective and efficient Horcrux hunt.
In which Voldemort's diary made an accidental living eighth Horcrux, Draco travels back to stop the Second and Third Wizarding Wars, and Narcissa does not give a damn about the world but the Dark Lord will cost her family too much. Also, whilst little Draco goes shopping for his Hogwarts supplies, older Draco puts several people under compulsion, ties up some loose ends with Harry Potter and Quirrell, and then heads home for a sure-to-be interesting dinner with the family.
[The fortunate thing is that Draco no longer has to worry about his mother having a lacking conviction in destroying Horcruxes and killing the Dark Lord. The unfortunate thing is that Draco now has to worry about his mother having a little too much conviction. He’s afraid that either he won’t be able to keep up or that Lucius and the younger Draco are going to notice something’s a little off about Narcissa.
Family First, he told his mother, very much meaning it. But it is clear that Draco does not mean it half as much as his mother does. Narcissa Malfoy is a very selfish person who, unlike her grown son, does not care at all about what being a good person might entail. A good mother? Yes. A good cousin? Yes. A good person? No, family comes first, last, and always.]

Pure fluff for the 5+ AU Headcanons game.
Harry proposes that he and Ron just go stag together, Harry is brick wall who had no idea Lavender and Parvati (or Katie Bell and Sarah, or Sirius and Remus...) were dating, many people gawk at the Yule Ball and the Weasley twins play paparazzi, dancing is actually really fun when you like your partner, and they boys go from being a couple of friends to just a couple.
[Harry stopped to think about it and… hmm… how about it? It would be pretty great to go to the Yule Ball with his best mate. To go out there with someone he actually knew and trusted and could talk to. He wouldn’t even have to worry about looking like an idiot, because Ron had already seen his absolute worst bedheads and more, and Harry knew just as much about Ron.
“It’d be a giant ‘fuck you’ to the Tournament people too,” Ron mused. “Old blowhards. And Percy.”
There was also that. It was a really tempting “also that” too.
Harry looked over towards Ron, trying not to smile. “We really shouldn’t.”
But Harry couldn’t help but smile, because Ron was already grinning a savage and daring sort of grin.

And yet, longing, a childish desire to tear up, or maybe blow something to bits, they all twist in his chest like a band of traitors regardless. “—I just want to go home.”
Or: the one where Katsuki and Izuku fail the first term exam, Aizawa discovers their pasts, and Katsuki is booted from UA. Featuring questionable descriptions of villain organizations, a slightly illegal moving shop, and your favorite emotionally constipated badass in distress with a newly discovered penchant for collecting strays.

UA expels Katsuki and doesn't check up on him. The LoV make a failed recruitment and nomufication attempt, Katsuki fights back against All for One's quirk stealing, and as a result boom boi sees quirk factors as colourful aura shit.
After a failed recruitment and then nomufication attempt by the LoV, man sees quirk factors as colourful aura shit, good grandma takes in Katsuki as her assistant at their moving Sun shop, some fun zombie times and trauma occur, Eri is kidnapped from the villains, and it's not Katsuki's fault he's on the Christmas wishlist of just about every villain out there like bruh he just wants to be left alone at this point.2. Because Obito's life is bullshit, instead of dying he ends up being hurled into a World where people set themselves on fire more often than your regular Uchiha. Oh joy.
Obito is angry, extra and salty as fuck. He has some annoying - albeit funny - run-ins with the knock-off Akatsuki before they get rounded up for their brunch club.
[Oh, now the boss man was doing that thin smiling thing where he tried very hard not to sneer. Obito gave him points for politeness.
"I'm sure I can arrange some form of payment for your help." He even managed to keep the condencing in moderation. What a nice man.
"I'd like to know more about the target first, if you don't mind." Obito smiled sweetly behind his mask "Cos' it could be The Pope. I don't want to kill the Pope!"
There was a silence and then, "It's not the Pope," came the strangled reply.
"Oh, good. Then I don't mind taking a look." Obito took a step forward and waved at his fingers in a 'gimme' gesture.]
[There's a giddy feeling inside his stomach, but he's not entirely sure of the cause. Might be that all the parallels are giving his cracked psyche something to laugh about. A mysterious masked man has invited him to join an infamous group of criminals. Isn't that just novel. Who would have though something like this would happen? Is this even reality anymore? Skull is indeed very shocked!
Also little disappointed. The masked man had been almost polite if you ignored his generally threatening air and his rather insisted demeanour that made it Crystal clear that Skull would be attending their little criminal meeting or else.
The other man had finished their rather one-sided conversation with throwing some hooked information about Flames and exciting new powers. Skull is sure a normal confused civilian would have taken the bait eagerly.
Obito had just mentally narrowed his eyes and loudly criticized the other man's delivery.
Really, that's it? That's all you are going to do? This sort of luke-warm shit would never have worked with Akatsuki. Their modus operandi in the beginning had been to fully acknowledge that the people they were inviting were uncooperative assholes that would hardly heed polite invitations.
It was fine to spare few words of enticement and try to charm the other Missings Nins into getting interested in their little Mercenary Organisation. And when that inevitably failed, they let an ugly thug (Konan) to beat them till the Candy fell out and drag their Still somewhat live carcasses back to the headquarters by their ankles.]

He expected to keep the Blue Paladin for only a short while, and then to return him with a secured alliance with Voltron.He did not expect to become the face of a revolution, the cause of a Civil War, and be hailed as a hero by the people and the Blue Paladin. He did not expect it to be so difficult to locate Voltron. Nor did he expect for the Blue Paladin to inadvertently join his team. And the absolute last thing he expected was for feelings to form for the Blue Paladin.

Tim gets burned every single time.[More tears slip out, even though Tim’s face stays blank, and he rubs them away impatiently, like they’re an inconvenience and not the very things making Bruce’s stomach churn.
“Tim. Are you okay? I –“
“I’m fine. Can you go?” Tim says, level, like he’s asking for a cup of coffee. “Please?”
“Tim-“
“Get out, Bruce.” Tim snaps, picks his keys up off the floor and throws them on the counter, glaring at the takeout sitting innocently on the counter before turning red eyes back to him, simmering with hurt and anger. “Next time you decide to remember I exist, call first.”]
["Alfred, can I sit in here with you? Please?" He pleads, leaning heavily on the door of Alfred's private quarters, not able to keep the tremble out of his voice. He was doing better, until suddenly he wasn't and he can't stop shaking as his skin sears, and he thinks he'll puke if he can't escape the sheer amount of activity in the manor right now.
A few minutes later, he's apologizing as he does indeed puke in Alfred's private bathroom, and the older man shushes him and keeps talking about the book he's reading to distract him.
"I thought it was over." He sobs out into the bathmat when he's done, clenching his teeth against the pain. "I want it to be over."
"It will not be forever." Alfred soothes, wiping the sweat from his brow and petting his arm, and it reminds him so much of Bruce the first day he'd gotten hit that he cries even harder, and then has to pull himself up to throw up some more.]

(She was Kakashi but he wasn't her and for all intents and purposes, her relative inexperience was working against her.)
(Solanum only got the essence, you see, and barely anything from his missions and his experience as a leader. As a spy. As a jounin.)
(Although Hatake Kakashi spent most of his life doing missions for the village, leading covert operations in order to protect the Konoha's assets, he didn't count these experiences as an integral part of his being - of who he was as a person.)
(All Solanum inherited through her dreams were Kakashi's trauma, his team, his comrades, and the death of people he cared about very much.)
