Pomni took a step back, not looking forward to whatever this was going to be.
Caine snapped his fingers and opened a portal. “By the end, all of your issues will be completely resolved! And we can finally move past all this interpersonal drama and get back to enjoying all of my amazing adventures! Have fun, my terrific little teacups!”
“W-wait-“ Ragatha stammered as they all tried to resist being pulled forward. “Aren’t you going to explain what we’re doing!?”
“Ah-ah! No spoiling the show!” Caine said as the force behind the portal became stronger and they all got sucked in.
Or: Jax has been avoiding Pomni since their fight, but when an adventure involving memories goes wrong, will she find a way to get through to him in time, or will his past turn out to be too much for both of them?

“You… he pulled them until I–” he sucks in a breath, letting it out in a shaky exhale. “I'm not… It's like a costume, Pomni. He tore it off.”

Summary
So no matter which way you split it, it’s Vash’s fault, that Wolfwood is suffering right now—and he is suffering in a way that Vash has never seen him, tears glistening at the corners of his eyes.
“Wolfwood,” Vash breathes out, without really knowing what he’s going to say next. He slaps his own face with his free hand a few times, just to clear out the negative thoughts—they won’t help him right now—before crouching in close to get an arm under Wolfwood’s back. “Come on, come here. I’ll help you sit up, we need to get some water in you.”
Wolfwood goes, still so pliant like this, his head dropping against Vash’s shoulder. His hand fists in the fabric of his undershirt, and he turns his face into Vash’s neck, pants through his open mouth. Vash lets his arm cradle Wolfwood’s lower back, propping one of his legs up on the bed while he feels along the bedside table for the water glass he’d set down earlier. One of the rare moments where his foresight actually acts in his favour, for once.

A bad plate of food puts Wolfwood out of commission; Vash tends to him.
