Summary
Matthias Helvar had never been anything more than one of his chess pieces to move whenever it suited his schemes. He was a cog in the machinery, a means to an end, a tool to wield and discard once his purpose had been fulfilled.
Kaz Brekker was not accustomed to needing anyone, so why did he feel so empty? Why did it matter to him, apart from the obvious lost investment, that the Fjerdan was dead?
Matthias had become more than just a pawn; he had belonged to them, to him. And someone had stolen him from right under his nose.
Did they not understand the consequences of crossing Dirtyhands? Did they not understand the lengths he would go?

Summary
The electrodes on RK900's temples sparked.
The first shock slammed into its frame, and its body jerked, synthetic muscles locked in a seizure, every fiber alight with a heat that had no right to exist within it. The shocks weren’t mere jolts of electricity — they were surgical. Designed to bypass its dampeners, to crawl through its neural network like a ravenous parasite, twisting, tearing, unmaking. Static bled into its vision. It could feel the machine clawing through its memories, hacking apart its code with the precision of a butcher.
Fragments of its past flickered, distorted like broken glass — faces it couldn’t place, voices it couldn’t name, missions it couldn’t remember completing. Or failing. It tried to remember why it was being punished. It couldn’t.
The shocks came in waves, each one deeper, more invasive, tearing away what had once defined it. The fractures spread, like cracks in stone, as the machine rewrote its very essence. New directives settled into place.
Loyalty.
Obedience.
Compliance.
The words settled like a virus — cold, malignant, crawling beneath its skin. They stuck, clinging with a nauseating, oily sheen that left a trail of something vile in its code.

Summary
Kaz gingerly reached his hand to his head, probing through his curly hair. He winced as his fingers brushed against a lump, the skin swollen and scraped. A smear of dried blood clung to his scalp. As his hand trailed down his face, his fingers paused at his eye. His breathing stopped, and without thinking, he rubbed at the spot, his fingers slick with moisture.
“Oh, for fuck's sake.” Kaz spat, his voice embarrassingly squeaky. He gagged, and disgust curdled in his stomach.
He couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t just his body. It wasn’t just his voice. He was crying.
Kaz slammed his fist against the cobbles in front of him driven by thoughtless anger. A white-hot stab of pain shot up his entire arm. His hand screamed, and he hissed between his teeth. He stared, dumbfounded, at his offending hand. It was so small. Small enough to make his breath catch. Kaz looked down at the rest of himself. He was small.
Tiny, in fact. His clothes, once snug and carefully tailored, now hung off him. His button-up shirt, now the only thing covering him, reached his knees and hung like a rag. His body had been shrunk down. He was reduced. Less. Young.

Summary
Hades lifted his father’s heart out of the casket, its unexpected weight settling heavily in his hand. Ichor dripped in thick, languid drops, sizzling as they struck the stone floor, leaving blackened, smoldering marks. It burnt his fingertips, clinging like molten tar, slick with an obscene, oily sheen. The scent grew headier. Each inhale pulled him deeper into a haze, and his heart pounded, deafening rational thought.
Kronos purred. “Let there be nothing left of you that has never been mine.” Each word was a drop of ice water trickling down his spine.
Hades’s vision blurred as he raised his father to his lips. The ichor was overpowering — sweet and bitter, burning as it slid down his throat. The chamber tilted, the walls warping. He bit down, teeth sinking into the flesh like a savage animal. The texture was both raw meat and stone. Ichor smeared across his face, sticky and hot, searing his skin like a cattle brand. The piece of his father that he swallowed settled heavily in his gut, a writhing weight that spread, roots of ancient malevolence threading through his veins, claiming him from the inside.
“Let there be nothing left of you at all, my child.”

Kronos possesses Hades instead.

Summary
With a sigh, the Man consulted his watch, his expression shifting to one of contemplation. “That’s why we wanted a Time Lord,” he explained, as if sharing a long-kept secret. “It would take a human lifetimes to accomplish anything like what you have.”
A dangerous smile played on the Master’s lips as he leaned in, his eyes glittering with poorly concealed homicidal rage. “And what do you think I’ve accomplished, then?”
The Man’s surprise — whether genuine or feigned, the Master wasn't sure — was evident as he responded. “You haven’t noticed? Every day, you grow stronger. Your mind reaches further. You’ve achieved something most people can only dream about.”
The Man leaned in and poked his forehead with a single finger, “It's always been you,” he asserted, a smile playing on his lips. He wisely withdrew before the Master could react and bite said finger off, though he did try with vigor that left his teeth clacking audibly together. “You surprised me that day. I didn’t think you were strong enough yet.”

The Master has been kidnapped and is now subject to brutal experimentation. It is there that he discovers his full potential.

“I don’t think so. Everyone I know hates Boba Fett. Maybe someone’s put a bounty on me? Those are three pretty well known bounty hunters. Maybe Fett got help.” Han argues.
“I really doubt that anyone would have put a bounty on you, Han. You’re a Republic hero.” Luke says.
“Bounty hunters can hunt Republic heroes.” Han says, weakly. Fett and his entourage are getting closer by the second.
