“You have some of my soul jam, correct?” Shadow Milk asked, clearly having deduced the truth. And Pure Vanilla was not a liar, so he nodded reluctantly in confirmation, watching the Fallen Hero's twisted smirk stretch even further up azure dough. “Then that makes us one and the same! We wield the same magic, hold the same thirst for knowledge, we alone are able to manipulate the truth wholeheartedly. You and I are capable of possessing all-consuming power!” The Beast crowed, and a new sort of fear began to settle in Pure Vanilla’s gut.
“No,” he blurted out suddenly, before the action could even register in his brain. It was an instinctive response: a denial of something that simply couldn’t be true. He didn’t want ‘all-consuming power’, and Shadow Milk Cookie had fallen. He was corrupted. Pure Vanilla refused to let that happen to him.
“Yes! You are like me,” the other cookie hissed delightedly. “We share a soul, little cookie. And that makes you mine.”
OR: Pure Vanilla buys his friends some time, and Shadow Milk Cookie decides to have him put on a show.

Agatha laughed. His geography was entirely out. She remembered now the unfortunate lapses in education that noblemen sometimes suffered from.
“At a mere 700 kilometers away and me locked away in a convent, our paths are unlikely to have crossed–”
“Until now,” he interrupted, smiling widely and dark eyes rapt. He held out his hand. “So distance didn’t keep us apart in the end.”

Humans considered their Gods infallible. That they were all knowing and all powerful. In a way, they were right but in so many others they weren't. A God's strength came from how many worship them. A God's immortality came as long as someone still remembered their Name. As long as one person still remembers their Name they will survive.
Many of the Forgotten Gods no longer worshipped as they once were are weaker than ever average wizards. They start integrating themselves with the mortals. Even then one by one they begin to die off as their Names are long forgotten, Temples, and Shrines are long destroyed. Many of the Old Ones are reduced to being no more than a whisper in the wind, a flicker of magic before they are gone for good.
In Chicago there is one God who acts not as a God but as a wizard. He uses modern means to survive. Until someone finds an old shrine of his and his Name carved onto the crumbling stone.

Years later, Harry is working part-time for Chicago Special Investigations as a consultant and part time at a motel. Little does he know that his quiet life is going to be dragged out of the shadows by an unexpected visitor. Some just can't keep their noses out of his business.

He comes once every year. Stays for 2 months, picks a random sacrificed bride, then disappears into his 'other-worldly realm'. That's what the villagers said.
Pure Vanilla was only sent on a mission to find out what was the source of that random energy outbreaks that sometimes occur in random places in Crispia, the source only led him to this village, but never has he known that he'll be a bride to this unknown god.
