“I can’t open a portal between realms.”
“Have you ever tried?”
Lloyd paused, blinked. “I… No. I haven’t.”
“Then I suggest you do. Come. We will go outside for this.”
The three of them went to the roof of the building, and Lloyd once more took in the sight of the immense city. He didn’t know how he was going to do this. He didn’t know how to access the dragon part of him. The gold was there, sure, but it was buried deep beneath a sea of green and purple-black. He couldn’t… reach it. He’d never been able to, and he didn’t think he would, standing on a roof in the middle of a city in a realm he’d never heard of while he was wearing his pajamas.
“You can do this.”
Lloyd rolled his eyes. “You don’t know that.”
“No, but I believe it.”

“So, the mural was real?” Cole asked as they walked down the hall.
“I did say that doctor was full of shit,” Morro reminded them.
“History is art,” Zane said. “Not science. Even an expert such as Dr. Saunders can be mistaken from time to time.”
Morro gave him a disbelieving look. “It was only forty years ago, Zane. People are still alive from then. It is not hard to ask a simple question of those that were there.”
“That guy rubs my skin the wrong way,” Kai told them. The man had made him uncomfortable since they met.
“Same,” Morro agreed.
“He’s just a historian,” Zane pointed out. “What could he have done to spark distrust?”
Kai rubbed the head of the snake. “Just a feeling, Zane.”
“Hmm. Might serve to investigate that.”

Lloyd stared at Master Wu incredulously. There was absolutely no way he’d just heard Wu right, because there was no way Wu had just suggested what Lloyd thought he did.
“You’re joking, right?” Jay asked, also looking at their sensei in horror.
“I am not,” Wu stated.
Zane blinked. “Are you certain this is a good idea? Ninjago just experienced another cataclysmic event. Us leaving may put the country in danger.”
“Ninjago will survive without you for a year,” Wu declared. “Worry not.”

Wu has mandated a normalcy period for his ninja, set to take place in Paris, France because their heroes can handle anything that comes up instead.

“Sensei,” Kai started, and all of them froze. Cole took a quick picture of the symbols with his phone before turning to stare at his friend. He hadn’t referred to Wu as Sensei since they found out about Kai’s history. “You said that the one possessing Lloyd is your first student.” He turned a pointed glare to Wu. “Tell us about our enemy.”
Wu held Kai’s gaze as the rest of them turned to him.
“C’mon, Sensei,” Cole said. “Kai’s right. We know nothing about the ghost that just kicked all our asses.”
Wu took a breath. “Morro was my student decades ago,” he started. “When I was younger, more… foolish. Less careful. He is the Master of Wind, and he’s tenacious. He is… my greatest regret.”
Cole’s eyes widened. “How so?”

Summary
He shivered again, hard. Ras needed to do something, since the fire obviously wasn’t enough and his master would be displeased if Lloyd died here.
He reached his paw out, and Lloyd caught it, moving faster than a striking snake. Ras could see the tips of golden claws poking through the ninja’s gloves.
“It’s freezing,” he rumbled. “It’s not like either of us are going anywhere, and you’re a dragon, yes? I am covered in fur.”
“You can not be suggesting what I think you are.”
Ras shrugged. “It is your decision, but it would work best if that gi was not in the way.”
Lloyd dropped Ras’s wrist, tugging at his sleeves. He shivered again, and he let out an annoyed huff. “Fine.” He pushed his hood back, and Ras felt his eyes go wide and his breath stuttered. He clenched his jaw to keep himself from making a sound as Lloyd took off the top part of his gi.
Holy shit.

“This is so stupid,” Lloyd mumbled, sitting down on the bathtub rim. He had a dry, clean rag in his hand. Kai proceeded to watch in mortification as the child of his greatest enemy wrenched a blade from out of his shoulder, pressing the rag to the wound. Lloyd dug around in a box and pulled out a needle, a lighter, and some thread. Kai proceeded to lose his grip on the wall in surprise, falling onto the open door with a very Ninja yelp.
Lloyd stared at him with blood-soaked hands; Kai stared at him with a mortified scowl. The front door opened with a “Lloyd! I’m home!”
Kai and Lloyd echoed the same word:
