With Aaravos's prison relatively safe and hidden away with Zubeia for the time being, there are pressing issues to deal with, specifically for Rayla and Callum. Side by side, the two are prepared to face whatever needs to be faced to return Runaan, Tiadrin and Lain to the world of the living. Getting the Quasar Diamonds is the easy part though in the grand scheme of things. What comes after... well that's a tougher road to face for not just the two of them. Getting them free is one (relatively taxing) thing, but accustoming them to the modern world... well that's a little tougher.
AKA a Rayllum fanfic masked as a Moon Fam Reunion Bonding fanfic because there is not enough of them, disguised as a Fictober fic (in the hopes it encourages the author to actually commit somewhat :) )

In all honesty, Ezran thinks it’s a well thought-out, completely reasonable, perfectly sound idea that could solve a lot of his own problems, Callum’s problems, and Katolis’ problems, in one fell swoop - if it works, that is. It’s a little risky, he’ll admit, but it’s not the same as, say, running away from home at ten years old with his brother and a Moonshadow elf assassin (whose mission was to kill him, mind) to return a dragon egg in the midst of a centuries-long war, and hey, they’d managed that all right. Compared to that mess, politics should be easy, right?
