Summary
The elite University of Caldera only accepts a limited number of students & an even more limited number are allowed in on scholarships. When Yue, a member of the figure skating team enrolled thanks to a nebulous scholarship, is brutally murdered with exactly eight witnesses - the pressure is on for Caldera police to solve the crime. Everyone is a suspect.
Siblings Sokka & Katara are forced to defend their innocence before they can process Yue's death. Suki just wanted to enjoy her freshman year & try new things but her connection to Yue is in question. Jet isn't a student but his history with drugs & violent offenses leaves the police suspicious. Zuko's problems with Yue are quick to come to light despite his best efforts. Daughter of a police officer & perfect student or not, Joo Dee's strange behavior leaves her a suspect. Azula & Ty Lee's plans regarding a dark prank & a secret exchange of money with a local politician leave their motives in question.
What was supposed to be a year of rigorous academia and a little partying quickly becomes a desperate bid for survival for the witnesses to Yue's murder as secrets come out and tensions rise.

Ten minutes after Eijirou had not returned and he was done with the girl’s meaningless pleas. “Why won’t you just tell him how you feel?” She insisted. “There’s literally no reason not to!”
“No.
“You can’t just say no and then not explain yourself!” Camie countered.
“Watch me,” Bakugou said, baring his teeth ferociously.
“Wow. You are, like, such a guy, did you know that?” She pouted, earning her a condescending look from the boy before he mockingly replied, “And you are, like, such an idiot.”
“It’s a waste of time.” Katsuki didn’t look at her when he replied. He seriously needed to end the conversation.
“What’s a waste of time?” Camie asked. “Having ‘The Talk’? Or your feelings in general?”
“We’re both happy the way things are right now, so why waste everyone’s time talking about it,” he stated.

Midoriya blanched. “You think Kacchan is interested in Utsushimi?”
He seemed doubtful, so Ashido shoved Kirishima’s phone in his face. “Do you see this smile? That is the smile of boy who is head-over-heels smitten, am I right?”
Midoriya actually took the time to look at the picture critically, though he shot an uneasy look towards Kirishima before he answered. “Umm, y-yeah,” he said as he started to back away, hiding behind Uraraka like a shield. “It definitely looks like Kacchan is in love.”

That was because he didn’t want to accept the award. Not that they knew that when tying him to the block and forcing a muzzle onto him. The student had no idea what the hell was going through their minds.
“You’re representing us Katsuki, the family, our jobs, even the people in this neighbourhood. How can we proudly recognize you when this is the sort of image you put out? Imagine what your soulmate would think, they’d be embarrassed to be seen in public with you...”
If only he knew. Knew that Katsuki had found out who his soulmate was. Knew that there was no way they’d accept him anyway. Knew that even he questioned how the hell they could be soulmates.
“...Imagine finding out that the one they’re connected to acts more like a villain than a hero. ”Bakugou Katsuki always thought, if one person could love him, truly love him, it’d be his soulmate, right? Bakugou Katsuki was wrong.
