It was wild. Steve Harrington was dancing with Eddie Munson, at a house party. In front of practically everyone in Hawkins.
And Eddie was a terrible dancer. He could head-bang and hop around with a guitar but when it came to dancing, he had two left shoes and neither of them were laced up. At least he had enough alcohol and pot in his system he could fall back on as an excuse if anyone asked, but for the most part, he just let Steve take the lead…
…Eddie had no idea what a crush was even supposed to feel like, and becoming mildly infatuated with a person was the only thing he had to go off of, unless he counted those romance novels he liked to read in secret, that described it in deep, poetic analogies…like butterflies and shit like that.
“Butterflies in his stomach.” The hell did that even mean?

Eddie is very thankful that he still has on his sunglasses because Steve is showing more skin than Eddie has ever seen, even during his basketball days at Hawkins High. He’s wearing a white cropped Tears for Fears shirt and possibly the smallest blue shorts ever created. He’s got his hands on his hips and it draws Eddie’s attention to the scars lining his sides on full display. He’s almost wearing them like a badge of honor, refusing to cover them up like this. He wants people to know he fought and survived, it makes Eddie's stomach flip thinking about how that bravery was part of the reason he's even here.

It’s the spinning that does it. Eddie couldn’t look away if someone paid him. Every single time it happens, he just stops what he’s doing and stares. Drooling.
Before, it was just kitchen utensils or the baseball bat. Now...now it’s at band practice every day.
As it turns out, Steve can actually keep rhythm really well and while he can’t read music to save his ass, he understands beats and notes like a natural. The problem is- the problem is, that he keeps spinning those fucking drumsticks and Eddie’s gonna jizz in his goddamn jeans one of these days.
