Summary
Desperately, as both Dementors go for the kiss, Harry calls on that anger in lieu of happiness as he casts his Patronus.
Something emerges from his wand— a stag.
Except, Harry notices, the stag is different. Usually white and bright and luminescent, this time, his stag is a swirling mass of dark energy. It moves like a hurricane, like a force of pure energy, rather than a proper stag. It swirls around in and of itself— and it takes a larger than life presence. He has never seen anything like it.
When his Patronus becomes dark and corrupted, Harry attempts to work out the reason for the change. Between dealing with Umbridge, figuring out Dumbledore’s Army, and discovering classmates he’s never noticed before, Harry attempts to make it to the end of year exams.
