Experiencing near death felt like skydiving. The rush of adrenaline before taking the leap of faith was that syringe, fuelling the virus into his veins. He knew what he was doing to himself but the hope of continuing fighting was the shot of adrenaline that blinded every fear of what would happen next. The fall was harsh, air cutting through the skin and the feeling of never going to be able to go back to his life. The cure, medicines, training, love; everything was hard, too fast, too sudden.
Some moments felt like he was going to crash into the ground, but sometimes he would bounce back and keep going. Even while falling down, he was grateful to be still breathing, waiting for the chance to have a parachute. But no one has to be his parachute, he had to build it himself. Having help it’s okay, but he has to want to live for himself and not for others. It’s my life and I decide how and when to continue it.

God the pain he was in was unbearable. His organs were shifted, morphed into something grotesque and hated. His arm moved at its own will, he couldn’t control what it did anymore. His once beautiful face was now a horror show. What’s worse was his stubborn captain managed to have him a boat the escape pod. He planned on pushing him in and have him leave without him, but of course. The pain said otherwise. He only managed to look high before Chris placed him against the cushion plates on the ground. Slamming the door shut and managed to eject them out before the facility exploded. All he could do was watch as his captain tried and tend to his shattered arm. He could barely see him move before passing out.

It didn't matter how many years it had been since Africa, Chris still couldn't shake the nightmares that accompanied him like a morbid souvenir of that place.
He owed his life to Sheva. After she killed the Ndesu, she stabilized Chris’ injuries with tourniquets to stop the bleeding long enough for a BSAA medical evacuation chopper to land in the village center and take them to the nearest safe point. While Chris was taken in immediately for emergency surgery, Sheva reunited with Josh Stone, and together they tracked down Excella to put an end to Tricell once and for all.
It was a bittersweet victory. While Jill’s life was saved, Chris had been fighting for his own life on the operating table.

Africa ended differently, permanently altering Chris' fate for the foreseeable future. Years later, he is left with a new purpose and a laundry list of hurdles to accompany it in the name of a better future, for the BSAA and the world as a whole. Sacrificing a part of himself in the process may be more than Chris can truly handle when the events in Edonia don't play out exactly as planned. Sherry nodded determinedly. “It's in his blood. I have the data on his genome and everything. I was sent to retrieve Mr. Muller because his blood is the key for a cure.”
“His blood-” Chris’ thought was cut short by another. This felt eerily familiar, and he couldn't shake that phantom sense of recognition that hit him the first time he laid eyes on the man. It was something about his face, the look in his eyes, the way he moved and held himself. It rang too close to someone else Chris knew. Someone else who had the antibodies, and who suffered with worsened vision problems in the aftermath of virus exposure.
“Sherry, I need you to be honest with me.” He measured his words with the utmost care so as not to pressure her too much. He understood the precarious position she was currently in with her present job, and was prepared that, much like Leon, she may be unable to speak about certain aspects of her assignment. Her attention fixed on Chris with a nervous expectancy. “Is Jake Muller related in any way to Albert Wesker?”
Her eyes went huge, and that was the only confirmation Chris needed.
