What happened on the trip from Ogygia to Camp Half-Blood? Will Leo ever get called Hunk Muffin? Can Calypso play Rap God on the tuba? Are any of the Seven (sorry, Six) going to get therapy soon? And, most importantly, was Albania an inside job? I try to answer all these questions and more in this self-indulgent year-long Caleo fic that I spent way too much of my summer on.
Despite the jokey summary, this fic will deal with some mental health issues towards the middle, so please read safely. Warnings will be included in beginning notes if needed. Picks up where Blood of Olympus left off. Heroes of Olympus writing style was attempted, POV switches from Calypso to Leo with few exceptions, and all relationships besides Caleo are background.

Thirty-one hours. Thirty-one. Three tens, plus a single for a tip. That’s how many hours Leo had spent on this project. Considering he had a pretty damn good hourly rate at the shop, that meant this project was already worth one thousand two hundred forty dollars, and that was before he got into the cost of the materials. But none of that mattered did it? Because, at the end of the day Leo knew he’d pay way more than that if it kept his boy happy. Because keeping Festus happy was one of the most important goals of his day to day life.

Summary
The fact of the matter was that nobody had convinced Leo to leash train Festus, he’d made that decision all by himself based on one single off-hand comment. Actually, multiple people had told him he was crazy for even trying, but Leo was stubborn, Festus was remarkably smart, and before too long, Leo was one of those weirdos on the internet running errands with a cat. 94.8% of the time this was fine. Better than fine, actually.
Unfortunately, Festus was a very strong 22-pound behemoth of a cat, and if he decided that he wanted to chase a bird, Leo’s feeble, distracted grip on a leash was not going to stop him.
Then, wonderfully, miraculously, Leo heard that familiar obnoxious yodel, and he whirled around on his heel, heart leaping into his throat. “Festus!”
Festus meowed happily at him, and Leo was so relieved that he almost missed the fact that he was being held in the very sturdy arms of a very handsome man. Hi there. I think this gentleman belongs to you.”

Piper is looking forward to being in charge of camp. The war is over, and she needs new things to think about that aren’t Ethan’s half brother in the Nightshade cabin. Percy says it’s her choice whether she’s involved in what’s coming, but then the dreams start. She’s not sure she’s ready to leave camp. Especially when Jason is failing hard at hiding his fear.
Leo adores his new project. An automaton dragon that breathes fire? What could be better! He just wishes Prof would stop giving him hints. Then a quest is announced, and no chance he’s leaving Piper alone with the new Roman kid. The more Jason talks about his life, the worse it sounds. Leo isn’t a warrior, but he protects his people.
Reyna and Octavian watch the Prophet of Apollo stroll into Camp Jupiter with his retinue and slowly realise nothing is ever going to be the same.

After a devastating loss in Rome, it seems as if there's no end to the list of challenges faced by the crew of the Argo II. Hecate sent them on a wild goose chase across the Italy while expecting Hazel to learn magic from a mustelid. Annabeth is failing to find a use for the statue she risked life and limb to retrieve. There's an extremely volatile son of Jupiter prowling around, threatening to blow the ship out of the sky, assuming one of the dozens of monsters don't get to them first. Cherry on top, Piper and Leo are currently trapped in Tartarus, and their only hope of rescue is their friends managing to make it to the bottom floor of the Necromanteion. Piece of cake.

All it took was one honest and open conversation, and the relationships between the quest members shifted from paths forced to intersect, to a family. Leo wasn’t quite sure if he had gained six older siblings, or three sets of parents—the jury was still out on that.
Although right now, he was positive the rest of the Seven would be like ferocious mama bears if they saw the situation he was in.
