What if the Forbidden Five were revived?
The Forbidden Five have destroyed most of the merged lands, and the Ninja created a new safe haven called 'New Dawn'.
Cole and Lloyd are the last ninja remaining. When they encounter the Forbidden Five, Lloyd's Elemental and Oni powers go out of control. He ended up opening a portal that transported him and Cole into the far future, where the Forbidden Five are still at large but are being fought by a new team named 'The Dawn Bringers'.
Each chapter will be in a first-person POV, the person's POV will be in the title.

I will be staying as close to canon as possible, with a few key details altered and characters actually growing throughout the show. (Also, I promise Jay is less whiny.)

You ever go back and rewatch a show from when you were really little then realize the writing could be better so you rewrite the entire show with more angst, character growth, and darker themes?

All in all, what Cole was really trying to say was that he barely remembered what the guy looked like, let alone connect his face to the notes he dreaded to see in his dreams every day. He could imitate Jason's writing from memory alone, but imagining Jason's hands writing those notes? Beyond challenging.
Moral of the story: Cole didn't know how to react in this prickly, slightly awkward situation.
"Uh.. sure?"
Would he actually try to beat me up? That'd be interesting, should I hit him back? That might be danger—
"I know your true identity."
"Wh-huh?"
or, someone didn't take cole being in the 'popular friend group' very well.
