Okay, so the operation didn't work out the way you hoped it would, and there ain't a damn thing you can do about it. It’s time to pick up the pieces of your life, lost in all the rubble. Except the tower never fell, did it? You just fell off the top, and Konpeki Plaza's still standing over you, taunting you, telling you just how insignificant you really are. You blow up Arasaka tower, they build an even taller one just to say "fuck you."

V was a half-dead corpo reject: memory gutted, body carved open and patched with Arasaka hardware, spat back onto the street with a box of cheap tech and a settlement so insulting it feels like mockery. Officially, it was “an unfortunate situation in the workplace.” Unofficially, the NDA shuts his mouth.
He scrapes by until Viktor pulls him out of the gutter, and through him, Jackie and Misty give him the shape of a life again.
Then the Relic shatters it. Johnny Silverhand moves into his skull, and suddenly every touch, every fuck, every hint of closeness shared with someone else is tangled with a person only he can see—and who feels everything right along with him. V’s biggest fight isn’t only surviving. It’s also learning how to be close to anyone, when every bed now holds one more body than anyone else can count.

Over the past two weeks, every time they've thought they finally hit rock bottom, here comes this prick with a fucking shovel. Maybe V could just lie down here and let themselves die. Maybe this is the best they'll get.
Johnny takes a drag of his cigarette, puffing smoke down at their face.
"You wouldn't be so kind as to save me the trouble."
The mere sound of his voice makes the pain substantially worse.
Their jaw clenches, and the fabric of their shirt saturates further with various hues of reds and pinks. V wishes desperately for a moment that Johnny were warm flesh and blood, with a healthy beating heart, so that they might place their hands on either side of his sternum and rip him open.

The Relic, a faded distant and disturbed memory. V lost almost every detail of the two months they had the Relic inside their head, only remembering certain friends and loved ones but most was gone due to that 2 year coma the FIA put them under. Each memory gone...even:
Johnny Silverhand. The memories the two shared were gone and he was gone too. V had no memory of the man and no one felt the need to tell them the truth. No one told them about their true feelings and about Johnny’s.
When a mysterious woman called 'Angie' shows up and offers V a job, they take the deal... only to somehow be reviving the dead terrorist they didn't remember. Put off by each other, will they ever get back to how they used to be?
