"Weak backhand?" Shane scoffs.
"Yes. Is okay, I will teach you. Maybe let you play center once or twice during season."
"That's not happening." Shane feels anger running under his skin, but relief as well, that the guy was just chirping his hockey skills. "Thanks for your generous offer, though."

The story moves through locker rooms and tunnels, across rivalry games in Montreal and Ottawa, into kitchens, diners, cabins, wedding venues, and quiet apartments where lives actually happen. Along the way, familiar faces step into the light: Shane and Ilya at the center, with Kip, Scott, Yuna, Troy, Harris, Fabian, Hayden, Jackie, David, Eric, and others forming a loud, loving, complicated orbit around them. New bonds take shape too, including Luca Haas, whose presence shifts the gravity of everything.
This is a world of post-game chaos and morning-after silences, of team dinners, media storms, family found and chosen, and the spaces where love settles when the noise finally fades.
It’s Rachel Reid’s universe, told through missing scenes, emotional connective tissue, and a few imagined paths that might still lie ahead. After finishing with the timeline up to the end of the Long Game, I decided to keep writing and imagining what Unrivaled is going to include. Enjoy! :)
