Summary

Mickey blinked and sat up a little straighter to broadcast his surprise clearly. “Wha? Because you’re undead. Or... well maybe you’re not, because you’re really alive for a dead guy...”
“Sure.” Progeny nodded agreeably and popped his bite of food in his mouth, but his half-lidded stare remained locked on Mickey’s eyes, unblinking. The pinprick blue glow of his pupils burned.
Mickey pushed on. “But I guess I just assumed, because of the fangs and the blood and the uh, the immortality. That you were, y’know, in the Post-Mortem Party.”
“That’s a pretty good guess,” he said, nodding again.
“And everyone who dies and comes back is unsouled,” concluded Mickey.
“Interesting. And you know this because…?”
“My sire told me.”
