They’d scratch, fight, and attempt to maul each other, but when it got quiet, Eva knew her little ones would be sitting back to back: Vergil with a book in his hands and Dante occupied with wooden blocks. She’d laugh quietly in awe as they’d sometimes pass out, laying curled up like they had been imaged in their sonograms.
No matter how much ferocity they fought with, they made their way back to each other with equal fondness.

“Scary.” Suren teases and laughs when Damian kicks sand his way.
He lets the chattering of his friends fill the silence as they walk and tries to put the nagging feeling regarding the lack of communication with his family.
‘It’s fine.’ Damian tries to reassure himself, his thoughts fleeting as Suren forces him to join whatever topics he and Maya have switched on. ‘It’s not as if I’ve died.’
((Or the one where there's a misunderstanding and Damian comes home from a mission to find a new headstone in his family's cementary. His family helps next to nothing to clear his confusion. They all eventually figure it out through their usual method: yelling and shouting at each other.))
