When Katsuki gets to their bedroom, avoiding the creaky floorboard once again, he opens the door as quietly as he can.
Shouto’s in bed, spread out diagonally. Stupid long limbs tangled up in their blankets, face pressed into one pillow with another tucked right up behind him. Katsuki thinks he knows why and the thought aches.
Looking at him, he doesn’t feel like he’s going to vibrate out of his skin for the first time in almost 24 hours.

He shoots another silvery line at the next closest towering skyscraper, close enough to see his own reflection and throw a distorted peace sign.
“I’m gonna tell you a story. Or, well, I’ll take you along for a story,” he continues, letting gravity pull him into a short freefall. “My story, I guess. I have no idea how it’s gonna end, or how bad it might get along the way, so don't ask me for spoilers. We’ll both just have to be surprised together.”

Or: Some guy died, and the Hemmicks are holding the memorial. Nicky's bringing Erik, and Andrew needs someone to distract a small army of conservative Christians from hurting his cousin even more than they already have. The neighbor he's never talked to before seems like a reasonable choice.
