Summary
Sapnap was many things. A fighter, a pet killer, a little hot headed, and more often than not thinks with his fists instead of his head. He knows to be wary when someone approaches him, offering information at no cost. He knows better than to think it's true, up until it is. He'll do anything for Dream, even if it means going against his fiance and the entire server.
For now, he takes Dream home, hoping to let him heal before everyone finds out what he's done.
Dream has been Quackity's guard dog for—he doesn't really know, at this point. Does it really matter? All he knows is that Sapnap appeared, killed his owner in front of him, and took him home. He knows that his oldest friend is confused by his behavior, but he tries his best to follow his training anyway.
He knows there's something wrong with his brain. He knows that he's acting like a terrified animal, that there's no reason for him to be. He can't seem to stop.

Sapnap busts Dream out of Las Nevadas when Foolish tips him off. Cue healing and Sapnap being an idiot.

ClownPierce had not originally been in this fight.
It hadn’t originally been a fight at all, but who was he to turn down a good one? A heart was nothing to sneeze at, not when he’d yet to hit twenty. Any chance to get ahead, to one up the biggest thorn in his side, the ones who’d been attempting to hunt Apocalypse since day one. He would take their hearts, again and again, as many times as was necessary, until they were dead and buried where even the moderator couldn’t bring them back.
And if his teammate handed him an opportunity on a silver platter, it would have been rude to refuse.

ClownPierce is minding his own business when he gets an opportunity to attack one of his team's greatest enemies. Things don't really go to plan.

Summary
Heroism was gained young. Most of today's top ten already had high Trust values from the time they were teenagers. People don't want to put their faith in an unknown, and its difficult to believe that someone can do something when you know that they can't.
Lin Ling wanted to become a hero, but he knew that path would never be open to him. So when the number fifteen hero takes a swan dive off the roof and he was the only witness, he wasn't really in a position to say no when the role was offered to him.
If he had to pretend to be someone else, so be it. Better Nice than never.

Summary
Trust can do incredible things. It can make someone leap tall buildings in a single bound, or give someone enough strength to vaporize a meteorite before it ever touches the ground. People understand the value that this places in people, and are hesitant to give it to others who haven't proven their worth. It's a never ending cycle, as someone can't do amazing things without their Trust being high enough to do them in the first place, and nobody is willing to trust them when they have no Trust.
Fear keeps the world in a tight grip, for anyone who succumbs to it is no longer human and cannot be reasoned with. It's not clear how it spreads, but it affects commoners and heroes alike. Even recently, one of the top heroes vanished because of it, and there was not even a body left to bury.
Lin Ling knows about all of these things, and he decides that he can't give up his dream anyway.

For most of his life, Izuku has been the centre of villain attacks, but he has never been injured. Every time, he's saved by bright, unknown heroes—heroes who smile at Izuku, and ruffle his hair or ply him with hugs, and seem mesmerised by how small he is.

It was hard to look at Dream and identify him. He had shed the black winter guard that disguised all of his head except his eyes. Now he sat in a place beyond his darkened pit in the dirt, somewhere he had to pretend his humanity still existed.
He was some kind of relaxed and beautiful thing that kept flickering in and out with the pulling tide of the moon and the sun and relentless neurosis. He kept looking around with a paranoia no assurances could quell. If you asked Technoblade to describe him, he’d drawn a crude line under perfectly round eyes and above the chin and mouth which was filled with a thousand sharpened shattered teeth.
“Why did you always wear a mask?”
“It doesn’t matter, does it?” Dream asked him, voice a tad too reckless for Techno’s preference. “I made it something recognizable, something noticeable and I wanted everyone to notice me, I didn't know who I-.”
I wanted to know whoever I was, I was alive. At least, for a little while.OR
