“Frank was turning the other cheek and it wasn’t getting him anywhere.” Tiny leaned back in his chair like he was settling into the story. “Asking him nicely wasn’t getting anywhere and this was before I really knew Frank. We were in the same class, sure, but I hadn’t said more than a word or two to him. Just kept seeing this scrawny, quiet kid getting pushed around and I’ve always been a lot bigger so no one was going to be picking on me. Anyway, I knocked him over a couple times. Didn’t take long for him to get the idea.” He grinned as he reached for his beer. “Me and Frank’ve been mates ever since. Haven’t we, Frankie?”
