Summary
Tim holds still as Ra's wraps gentle arms around him and presses their foreheads together.
Tim holds still and breathes in the same air as Ra's Al Ghul for the first time in more than a decade.
The plan really did fail, then. Even Wonder Woman couldn't keep Ra's imprisoned forever. Tim knew that, of course. Knew it was always a possibility that someone not dead might come back but—Ra's slowly strokes over the bare skin of his neck and meanders into his hair, proprietary and firm. Prickles of heat follow in the wake of that familiar touch, and Tim shudders.

Cecil feels his stomach clench in apprehension as he looks at the Mark through grainy security footage. Hands behind his head and expression perfectly calm surrounded by reanimen.
No yelling, no cocky smirk, no crazy eyes.
There's also none of the anxiety or anger or any of the complicated array of emotions that Cecil is used to seeing on those features. Just the sort of calm confidence that stems from the complete and utter certainty that he’s the strongest person in the room. Cecil is intimately familiar with that look, since he used to see it all the time.
On Nolan’s face.
Or: MasklessMark isn't evil and he wants to stay. Complicated, heart-wrenching, and sometimes funny things result from this choice.

He really should have expected something like this. How many days — weeks? — has it been since he got here? Really, it's impressive Ra's has managed to keep his hands to himself this long.
Tim doesn't so much hear him coming as sense a disturbance in the force. 'Something is off', his overwrought nervous system tells him just before Ra's large, warm hand grips the back of his neck.

Clark hears how Bruce's breath hitches, catching in his throat. It only spurs Clark on.

And Tim has so much he wants to change, so much he wants. He wants to feel important to Bruce. He wants to be Dick's favorite. He wants Jason (his childhood hero) to think he's cool. He wants Damian to need him. And really, is it manipulation if his family benefits from it?

Alfred was staring at him from the over the car top, aghast. “Master Bruce, it’s not a raccoon.”
From the back seat, Bruce Wayne stared at him. Tim stared back.
