Karasu felt heat crawl up the back of his neck. Whether it was embarrassment or anger, he didn’t know. Didn’t want to know.
“Get. Out. Of. The locker,” Karasu hissed, temper finally slipping.
Otoya sighed dramatically, as if Karasu were ruining the best nap of his life. “Okay, okay. Chill.” He shifted, one leg unfolding, the other bracing against the edge. “I’ll get out.”
Karasu let out a long breath.
“Eventually.”
Karasu nearly exploded.
“Otoya—!”

Bachira turned his head to look at Isagi, who had closed his eyes, the sun lighting up his dark hair and blue lashes.
He smiled softly.
Every sound that came from Isagi was precious to him—his laughter, his gasp when Bachira did something silly, even the quiet hums when Isagi thought too hard about something. Bachira loved them all.
He didn’t need a soccer ball or a crowd or even his monster to be happy anymore. Just this—just Isagi beside him, their hands brushing in the grass, sunlight dancing across their faces.
He didn’t really know what love was—not the kind adults talked about—but whatever he felt for Isagi had to be close. It filled up his chest so completely it almost hurt.

The beast looked at the ground, considering. If the man were to stay, he would be staying of his own choice. He knew what this meant to the others living at the castle, what it meant to him to be given the chance to be free.
This man’s words, though. Did he really mean them? He would give up his entire life for his family? Someone like that…
