Summary
Dick Grayson is missing, and it takes a frantic ex-hero (?) and a furious ex-mercenary (??) for Damian's emotionally repressed family to get invested enough to start looking for him.
Too bad Slade finds (and takes) him first.
Still hurting from Dick's orchestrated death, the Batbrothers are going to going to have to work through their emotions, and confront some truths (and their own demons) if they want to reunite with their brother. If they want to become family they're yearning for.
Meanwhile, far away from home, Dick is navigating the unfamiliar waters of the Wilson family. Reconciling his past and his identity with his future and the people he loves, while trying to not hurt both his families? Even Dick Grayson’s Eldest Daughter Syndrome might not survive this one.

Summary
Through the carnage came a figure cloaked in shadow, she appeared to move through the bodies rather than step on top of them. Even standing somewhere around seven or eight feet tall, she was far too humanoid to be a foe, they had long since abandoned their ruse of playing at humanity. She wore a cloak that appeared to dissipate and knit together like threads of smoke, the gossamer threads like the grey of a new dawn. Under the hood, he could only just make out her eyes, a clouded sky blue, pupils, and her gaze unending.
She stopped before him, their eyes meeting through his tears. There was no empathy in her gaze, only his own agony reflected back at him, though her hand was light as a soft breeze as she tipped his chin up.
“Please,” Dick said, even though he didn’t know what he was asking for: release, mercy, death.
“You long to go back.”
“Yes.”
“For a different outcome.”
Dick nearly choked on the word, “yes.”
“I can make it so. I can give you the gift of foresight, but I warn you, it comes at great sacrifice as it does for anyone else who it is bestowed upon.”
Dick Grayson may not be able to change everything, but my god, is he going to try.

Summary
trauma has a way of catching up to you, of leaving all your fault lines bare and tearing you open from the inside out
recovery is slow and hard and sometimes you take more steps backward than forwards.
sometimes you help others as much as you are helped, sometimes you're buried ankle deep in regret and fear.
it's never easy
or; Dick Grayson and trauma, recovery, and his siblings. Something's wrong with all of them but they work through it, eventually.

Summary
Damian is not the affectionate type. He does not like hugs or physical affection, and he definitely does not initiate it.
That changes when his baby brother is exposed to Fear Toxin for the first time during a sting operation. For Dick, Damian will put aside his stoic mask and hold him close for as long as he needs it.

Celebrated with great fanfare or in small committee, with tears of joy or sadness, with four-tiered cakes and extravagant gifts or a candle planted on a cupcake at a gas station, on a boat in the middle of the ocean or at the top of the world, every birthday is different.
This is their story.

A year worth of birthdays for my favorite characters.

SMACK
The sound of the back of his hand meeting Garp’s face silenced the entire battlefield as they stared on in shocked horror. Garp was among the number as he slowly raised a hand to his rapidly bruising face. The only thing saving him was Luffy’s innate need to never hurt his family.
“I am sick and tired of your fucking bullshit, Grandpa.” Luffy snarled that other he couldn’t begin to explain flowing thick in his voice. “I know you never actually gave half a damn about us, but this? This is fucking disgusting.”

Summary
On one particularly notable occasion, when thirteen-year-old Barbara ventured to tell Dick about her greatest achievement, she had the gall to call herself his first friend. She can’t quite recall what he said but she knows exactly what she said back.
“Richard John Grayson, don’t you ever compare a woman to an elephant again!”
And from then on, they were Dick and Barbara. Gordon and Grayson. The original dynamic duo.

Summary
So, Dick hadn’t actually died. Big deal, Steph hadn’t either. Neither had Bruce. Hell, sometimes Cass just fucked off for a couple of months only to show up for a random Sunday dinner. It stung, sure, but Jason held no illusions about his life expectancy, about any of their life expectancies. He was bitter, he was upset, he felt betrayed, but he didn’t have time to waste hating his brother, he’d done that enough already.
Five times the Bats noticed something new about post-Spyral Dick and one time they found out the truth.

Barbara covered her mouth. “Mhm,” her strangled voice managed to reply. “We should,” she sighed, then took a deep breath. “We have to hide the body.”
“What?”
“C’mon, Wing, we’re still playing, we can’t let them find us like this, we’d be sitting ducks!” Dick looked back to the Flash, then the empty hallway that the bats were soon to be running down.
