Ilya is not in his room, he's not home at all, he realizes for the first time this morning. He blinks a few times as his eyes dart around to the large windows, wooden furniture, blue sheets, and all sorts of other boring details in the room. All of a sudden, the flowers in his chest threaten to escape again, pushing on the confines of his skin. Ilya knows now that it wasn't a dream, and for some reason, it makes his eyes get a little wet.
"It was real?" he whispers so quietly he's not even sure if any sound comes out.
In an instant, all the sleepy fog rushes out, and Ilya jerks his head to the side of the bed. His heartbeat starts running a mile a minute. Shane. Where is Shane?

“I’ve…seen you around campus and it’s good to finally meet you. Like, properly.” He fumbled over the words, his tongue feeling thick and heavy and entirely too big for his mouth. Whether it was from the weed or the nerves from Ilya's presence, Shane couldn't tell.
“I’ve seen you, too.” Ilya grabbed the cigarette from behind his ear, bringing it to his mouth before lighting it.
“Really?” He watched as Ilya took a long inhale from the cigarette. Shane wanted to say something in that moment, something about how mixing alcohol, weed, and nicotine was probably a bad idea, but the words died in his throat as Ilya blew out smoke from the corner of his mouth and grinned at him. He looked so fucking good.
“Da, Shane Hollander.” Shane fought back a shiver as his name fell from Ilya’s lips. He loved how Ilya’s voice had wrapped around the vowels, long drawn out and quiet. He wanted to hear it again and again.
