Summary
It’s the summer of 1989, and college is three months away. Mike and Will have been dating for six months—a secret kept behind closed basement doors and in the quiet spaces between D&D rolls. But "making out" isn't enough anymore, and Mike is vibrating out of his skin with a mix of love, nerves, and a very specific kind of frustration.
When Will manages to clear the Byers-Hopper house for a single Thursday, Mike decides he’s going to be prepared.
What follows is a forty-eight-hour gauntlet involving a very suspicious pharmacy trip, three different flavors of lubricant, a run-in with Steve Harrington that Mike will never live down, and a basement floorboard hiding a secret that Dustin Henderson almost sits on.
But when Thursday at noon finally rolls around, and Mike finds Will waiting in his bedroom wearing nothing but Mike's old sweatshirt.

Summary
Mike's parents thought he was dating Will up until they graduated, and it makes something in Mike's head click.
I know this is kind of a crazy concept, but imagine them in season 4 when he kept talking about El and visiting her over break at the Byers house in California, and if they brought up Will, he’d get flustered and mumble something quietly. Since they didn’t even know El existed, they most definitely thought he was just dating Will and too shy to come out. They also assumed Nancy was going along with it because he came out to her first. Holly just wants to stay out of it so she can tell Derek after it’s over.
