The battlefield after doesn’t look real. It looks like something out of a movie. There’s wind, humidity in the air, and they set up triage tents right up on the alien planet, ushering people inside.
The kid’s face is covered in cuts, bruises, and scrapes. Sam hopes that his metallic suit was shock-absorbing, considering how much he was tossed around in the final fight. He doesn’t know his name, or his age, just that he received an ass-whooping from this teenager in Leipzig/Halle airport—something he vehemently refuses to admit.

Summary
Bucky noticed his staring. They were helping one of Sarah’s neighbors unload grocery bags while making light conversation about random things rather than their talks of the end of the world they were already so used to. Seeing him so soft, so free, smiling and laughing, all of the details combined made it so Sam couldn’t stop sneaking glances at him. It didn't help that he was wearing a shirt with short sleeves in the summer heat, something he didn't do before when in his civil clothes to hide the prosthesis — and, horniness aside, it was nice to see he felt comfortable enough.

Sam and Bucky have been avoiding their feelings up until a kiss that (literally) shouldn't have happened is the final push they need towards each other.
