Summary
Rumi never questioned it. After all, she was really comfortable being a girl. It was only when she started realizing that she was different that she started to reconsider. And figuring that out was even harder to deal with than… being part demon. Yet it was something she had accepted about herself even before that.
Celine was pushy, but Rumi didn’t start estrogen until she was sure. She tried to see herself as a boy–tried to act like one, think like one. And it didn’t make sense. Even the one time she dressed up in male clothes didn’t help. It felt so wrong.
She eventually learned more about what it meant. People online, usually in the west, would talk about it. A lot of them didn’t realize until they were much older. She was lucky in that sense. Although, the magic around being a demon hunter made it much easier for it to be predicted. She learned what the feeling she had was. The feeling she had the few times she was called a little boy, or when she tried on men’s clothes, or whenever she questioned if she was really a girl. It was gender dysphoria.

Summary
Iwasawa sighed as loud as she could. Speaking of inconveniences in the afterlife…
“Iwasawa, I need you to lead a mission!" Yurippe was yelling and pointing, as usual. The musician felt her annoyance rise up from the bottom of her stomach, threatening to bubble up through her mouth.
Now, Iwasawa supported the Afterlife Battlefront (or whatever the hell Yurippe decided it was called now), but lately, her ‘missions’ had been mundane busywork. If the regular students were NPCs, then these tasks must've been side quests. She could tell whenever their oh-so-benevolent leader/dictator had something boring and unimportant to assign her. The giveaway was Yurippe’s lack of the tactical beret.
Not waiting for any response, Yuri rambled on.

Iwasawa is tired of this. But Yurippe and Iwasawa are both tired of Yui's nonsense.

Now with his attention focused on her, Kanao felt her throat tighten. Words left her brain until nothing was left. Some part of her mind dimly registered that she could've forced an answer out, but that was why she hated talking. She didn't want to force herself. It was too much noise in her chest, too much texture in each syllable.
She felt her hand itch towards the coin in her pocket, but she hesitated. Words could never amount to how much she appreciated all the Kochou sisters had done for her, but she was annoyed that Kanae believed that all it would take for Kanao to open up was falling in love. Kanao didn't think she was falling in love, and she felt like she had gained at least a bit of her own sense of self over the past few years. The little feisty part of herself, tucked away in the corner of her consciousness, wanted to spite Kanae. She felt a twinge of regret, too; she never wanted to disrespect the eldest sibling. But she knew that if Kanae was there to hear her thoughts, she would've laughed along, probably ruffling Kanao's hair a bit.

The garden at Butterfly Manor holds lots of memories. But Kanao doesn't need to let go of them to move on.

Summary
Other teenagers around her gasped, one or two yelling, but mostly they gravitated towards the balcony to see the commotion on the first floor of the mall. Jubilee hoped she seemed like just another face in the crowd as she approached the railing giving a view of the level beneath the arcade. While others were shocked, or maybe even horrified, she walked forward with bated breath, only apprehensive. But her fears were confirmed as she saw the gleam from the magenta and purple metal, the undeniable figure of a mutant-targeting Sentinel.

Summary
Even though she had only turned 14 recently, Shinobu had seen too much carnage and horror to consider herself a child, or even a teenager. It was a pervasive theme for demon slayers; they usually joined after a demon had ruined their life. They didn’t usually get to finish childhood before they were forced into maturity, knowing man-eating monsters were living among them. Even the most cheerful slayers, like Rengoku, still had darkness in their eyes, and a sort of haunted presence that normal people tried to stay away from.
And that’s why an unfamiliar figure caught Shinobu’s eye.

After years of torturous flashbacks, Logan begs to have full access to the amnesiac vault of his mind. But even ownership of his own psyche is kept on a short leash.
