Summary
Excitement plasters itself onto Dustin's face and he leans in, grabbing Mike's wrist to pull him closer as well. Mike falls silent as Dustin eagerly grabs the radio again. "Suzie! Suzie, is that you?" he says, sounding much more hopeful than before.
Except what comes through the speaker isn't Suzie, at least Mike doesn't think it is.
Mike's eyebrows make a run for his hairline and he leans over to yap in Dustin's ear. "Thought you said Suzie spoke English, not— well, that's definitely not English. Whatever that is," he says. Not to mention the voice, albeit distorted, is clearly male.
He lets out a muffled yelp of protest as Dustin slaps a hand over his mouth, eyes wide. "Shut up. And no, this isn't Suzie, I don't know wh— is that Russian?" Dustin hisses, glancing over at him.
Mike looks at him helplessly. "Fuck if I know!" he mumbles into the other's palm.

OR: Season 03, but instead of going home after Hopper yells at him, Mike goes back to Weathertop with Dustin and hears the Russians as well >:)

“So. There’s a reason why I went to you about this.” He says.
“Okay, what is it?” Will carefully asks.
“You know how you’re in training to be a cleric, right? A- and that the professors say that you're doing amazing and that the divine calling in you would surely manifest itself as great power the more that we train as we grow older."
Will flushes at the barely hidden compliment but nods all the while. He's still confused as to what he's talking about, though.
"Where are you heading with this?"
Mike exhales a seemingly heavy breath and then speaks, deep brown eyes straight into Will’s hazel and voice carrying such conviction. "I want to swear my paladin oath to you."

Summary
He’s heard from mom and dad that saying sorry works 100 times better if you give someone flowers. That could work right? This was nowhere near his original plan, but it had to do.
In a split-second decision, he looks down and sees a close bundle of little white flowers. Daisies, maybe.
Will startles. Mike had crouched down and proceeded to rip the flowers off the ground. The next moment, Mike Wheeler now had flowers in his hand, outstretched in the direction of William Byers.
The brunette stares. From the arm, the flowers in his hand, and then to Mike’s eyes again. For the first time in this life, Mike’s voice directly addresses him.
“Hi! I’m Mike. I’m sorry that I kept staring at you this entire time. I’ve just been wanting to ask, do you want to be friends?”
or: mike wheeler not knowing how to make friends with will byers and in the end deciding to give him flowers as an apology

“What exactly does this pact entail, then?”
Mike leans forward very seriously, bringing his face close to Will’s.
“When they make it legal for you to get married, because they will.” He pauses, as if to make sure that Will is listening. Will laughs and nods for him to go on. “And if we’re both still alone and miserable—”
“Wow. Is that the awesome future you’re painting for us on our last night?”
“Shh.” Mike is doing a decent job at staying in character, but the crinkles around his eyes are giving him away. “If we’re both still alone by then… and at least partially miserable. That part’s important,” he continues dramatically, “I’ll marry the shit out of you, William Byers. Deal?”
Or, before heading off to college, Mike and Will make a pact. Fifteen years later, gay marriage is legalized in the state of Massachusetts. These two events are intrinsically linked to one another.

Summary
After a few minutes, Will pulls back, with one final kiss to Mike's nose, and caressing his cheek with his thumb. Then he says three words that shifts Mike's entire world in one go, "happy anniversary, baby."
He knows that he should be more taken aback by mention of an anniversary that they're apparently celebrating, but it's baby that makes Mike's entire chest cavity feel like there's a fourth of July fireworks display going off in there. And then he notices the simple but elegant gold band on Will's left hand and instinctively looks at his own, where there is a silver one to match.
Holy fuck. Not only are him and Will together in this dream, or not-dream, that he's in, but they're fucking married.Will Byers is his husband, and somehow it's the best word he could ever think of to describe him.
Unbeknownst to him, Mike Wheeler accidentally rolls magic dice and wakes up twenty-five years in the future, where he and Will are happily married.
