Scully stares up at Mulder, completely at a loss for words. What do you say in response to quite possibly the most important admission you have ever heard directed at you? It’s as though time has taken pity on her and stopped, the air between them still as her eyes begin to fill with tears and a soft puff of air escapes her open mouth in disbelief. Her brain cannot compute, cannot believe what she is hearing.
Mulder takes note of just how much of an impact his confession has on his partner. They’re staring at each other now, no more fight left in his eyes or defeat in hers— just two sets of eyes seeking the truth from the depths of each other’s souls.

He didn't see in real time as Lila realized the implications of her own words and how her face fell. He did, however, hear her soft and pitying tone as she started, "Wait, Five—"
"I'm going to bathe and catch up on some much needed rest," Five stood up and grabbed ahold of the radio before he sauntered out of the sitting room and beelined for the main bedroom, his sister-in-law's protests falling upon deaf ears.
No matter how hard you try, you'll never be like them.

Summary
“What’s going on? Did I miss something, or–” Tommy starts, chuckling lightly.
“Yeah actually, I think you did.” Eddie’s voice carries across the loft, shutting up Tommy immediately. It’s much more accusatory and pointed than before, not a hint of wariness to it. Eddie takes his time as he stalks back over into the open plan kitchen and dining room area, shaking the bottle in front of him as he does.
“Ibuprofen.”
Tommy looks between the bottle and Eddie’s stoic face, still completely clueless. “Yeah? That’s what it says on the label.”
Buck hardly hears Tommy say this to Eddie, the word Ibuprofen echoing around the walls of his mind. Oh, God.

When Buck wakes up with boils on his face, he calls Eddie to check it out. It is when Eddie finds out that Tommy gave Buck ibuprofen, one of the medications that can trigger Buck’s allergy to naproxen, that hell breaks loose.

“Hey Buck, how much pasta do you want? I was thinking more than we had earlier, but I wanted to make sure you felt up…” Eddie pauses as he peeks around the corner and makes eye contact with Tommy, who is peering over Buck’s shoulder. “…for it. Tommy,” he conceals his grimace with a polite enough looking smile. “Hello.”
“Diaz.” Tommy’s head reels back significantly at the sight of Eddie, the last person he expected to see this morning. “Huh.” He turns his attention back on Buck, eyes narrowing. “If you so badly want to be alone right now, then why is Eddie here?”
Now Buck is the one crossing his arms over his chest, huffing out a breath of disbelief.
“Eddie doesn’t count.”

“You’re not intruding at all.” MJ unlocks her door and steps inside, gesturing with her head for him to follow. “Besides, I’m just repaying you for the flowers.”
“You don’t have to,” Peter insists. “I was just being nice.”
“Then I’m being nice too. Come on. I have too much food and only myself for company.”
She holds up the plastic bag in her hand, where Peter can see two boxes of takeout inside.
“Okay,” Peter agrees, his hunger winning against his common sense. “Thank you for having me.”
Peter has done a good job avoiding Ned and MJ for the past four years. Until they both moved in across the hall and began inviting him for meals and giving him leftovers (suspiciously looking freshly cooked). He really shouldn’t get involved in their lives anymore, but Peter Parker is broke, hungry, and can’t resist the temptation of delicious food and the chance to talk to his friends again.
Or: Healing and loving through awkward leftovers, impromptu lunch hangouts, and maybe admitting Peter’s not quite satisfied with his life as he thought he was.

Elphaba woke with a gasp.
Fiyero was bolt upright a second later. Elphaba was already out of bed, pulling her boots on.
“What are you doing?”
“She’s in danger,” Elphaba said, throwing a cloak on. “I know it, the way I knew with Nessa. I won’t be too late again. I can’t.”
Fiyero leapt up, grabbing her arm. She tugged it out of his grip, and turned to pack a bag.
“You can’t. It’s too dangerous. I’ll go, you stay here.”
“I can’t,” she said. Her heart was pounding in her ears, terror choking her. “I can’t lose her too, Fiyero, I can’t.”
She thought of a stone door, and the last she’d seen of Glinda’s face. She thought of Ozdust, and pink tucked behind her ear, and the pamphlet Glinda had written in.
I hope you get what your heart desires.
It’s you, Elphaba had wanted to say, but she couldn’t just take what she wanted.

“Why did you bid on me?” he blurts.
“We never get to hang out one-on-one,” Maddie answers with a shrug. “And you’re very important to a lot of people who are very important to me. So I figured it was about time we did.”
“You spent sixteen hundred dollars,” Eddie reminds her.
Maddie shrugs again. “I was feeling charitable.”
OR: Deciding it's finally time to interfere, Maddie uses the LAFD's Bachelor Auction to win herself some one-on-one time with Eddie.
