Reyna’s brows scrunch in confused frustration, but she chooses wisely not to say anything. Instead, she pulls herself closer and brushes a hand against Thalia’s face. Thalia’s breath hitches at her touch. “It’s sad that so many people see themselves as monsters,” she says, “and that the true monsters only see themselves as the hero.”
Thalia traces her thumb against Reyna’s jaw, down her chin, against her lips. “You’ve never seen yourself as a monster?”
Reyna tilts her head closer, and her eyes drift towards Thalia’s lips. “What do you think got me to Piltover to begin with?”

The room is silent. Reyna can’t even guess what the others are thinking. Hell, she can’t even tell what she’s thinking. Her mind is turning to static. Painful, angry static that’s not that dissimilar from when Jason broke up with her. Which is dumb. Jason isn’t beholden to her. He can be interested in and date whoever he wants. Just the fact it’s Percy makes it so much worse for some reason.
Reyna turns her head to go from staring at Jason and Percy, to looking at Annabeth; who is sitting stock still and staring at the newly outed couple with cold hard insight. Something’s going on in her head, but Reyna isn’t sure what. She’ll definitely need to talk with Annabeth about this all later.

The noise stopped as suddenly as it started. There was a pause. All Nancy heard was her own deep breathing, the gentle wind, and some scattered birdsong that told her this thing probably wasn't a predator, whatever it was. And then the quiet broke.
"Stay back!" A woman's voice, raspy and dry. Nancy was thirsty at the sound of it. "I'm armed! You don't want to mess with me, I'm- Shit."
"I'm armed too," Nancy said, her voice calmer now, modulated, despite the pounding of her heart in her throat. "And you're stuck in a hole. I can leave you to it if you want, or I can throw a grenade down there to keep you company. Or you can put your hands up and maybe we can talk like civilized people. Your choice."

She didn’t wear any makeup aside from pink eyeliner that was probably a couple days old judging by how flaky it was. “I can do my investigations myself. In fact, I actually think that it’s better that I do it myself. A bodyguard can only hold me back.”
Mx. Rocher pulled out a printed booklet and placed it on the table close to Tina. As always, the actual message was short despite the size of the booklet. Another lavish waste of resources by the Federation. The black ink in the center of the page reflected golden under the harsh lights.
