“It’s like a slumber party,” she says with a small, sad smile, and Agnes returns it, taking her hand and dropping to the floor to curl up next to her. They move around a bit until they’re both somewhat lying down on the pile, face to face and hands bunched in between them. After a long moment of looking into Becka’s eyes, dark and wide, Agnes places one hand on Becka’s intertwined ones.

“Hey,” he breathes, trying and failing miserably to keep his voice steady. “You’re okay. You’re okay. Just hold on a second. We’re getting help.” He realises belatedly that Will is shaking, that he’s still half-soaked and without a jacket, so he lets him lean against his chest as he quickly strips off his own and wraps it around Will’s shoulders.
“Mike,” croaks Will. “I -”
Mike could fucking cry. In fact, there’s a painful lump developing in his throat that he swallows down in an instant because Will really doesn’t need him to turn into a snotty mess right now, not when he’s barely conscious, not after all of that.Mike Wheeler and sitting by Will's bedside, again.

That had been a bad day. It was only a few weeks after the earth split open underneath them, when the riots were over and the city was full to the brim with panic. A demodog attack had severed the fragile thread stringing Hawkins together, and the highway that ran out of the town flooded with cars. There had been bodies in the woods and the roar of traffic echoing over the silent town, emergency helicopters flying too low over their heads as El brought her fist closed and watched the demodog's breath get snatched from its lungs, heard it whine as it slipped on the slickness of its own blood beneath its feet, painting a sickening picture on the pavement.

Will's gaze is fixed on the horizon, his profile bathed in reddish light, but he nods a little. And then his hand is out of Mike's, and he's tugging him along by the sleeve, glancing behind them at the silent street. Something in Mike's stomach curls up into a little ball and starts crying, because it's definitely all his fault that Will won't hold his hand. And then he thinks maybe he's overthinking it, and Will wasn't intentionally dropping his hand, and before he realises they've reached the end of the street, a grotesque mirror of where they had been fighting the demogorgon.
in which mike and will are in the upside down. they fight and then hide and then kiss.

They all kind of bump awkwardly into a line, and Will ends up with his hands on Mike's waist and El's on his. He remembers to stick Mike's name tag back on his jacket. Then there's photos with just the guys, hands clasped below their belts, and then Max and El get photos of the two of them. Then it's Lucas and Max, who are smiling like everything's fine, and El jumps into Dustin's arms for their photo, and then Will and Mike have to stand with their arms looped around each other and grin at Jonathan while he snaps a picture. And Mike's hand brushes against the nape of Will's neck, feather-soft, and Will kind of goes weak in the knees. Hopper comes home halfway through the girl's photos, so Jonathan snaps a few of their dad in his work clothes with El and Max in their gowns.

Mayday got the girls out. Now they’re in Canada, physically safe, emotionally stunted, and trying very hard to act normal.
Between questions nobody in Gilead was allowed to ask and all the small choices Gilead never let them make, they begin to learn that escaping Gilead was only the beginning.

Summary
Ronan provided to be a distraction, but not to Adam — to Gansey. The further from studying they were, the more obvious it became how close Ronan's face was to Adam's neck.
Finally finished with his homework, Adam leaned back.
Gansey tried — really, really tried — not to stare but he was utmostly sure Ronan was nuzzling into Adam's neck. The touches could be easily mistaken for tiny little kisses scattered over Adam's freckled skin.
