“Is your special night, Hollander. This time, you get to watch.” Ilya’s voice brushed along Shane’s ear, low and intimate, as his arms caged Shane in against the chair dragged to the centre of the room.
Shane’s fingers curled around the armrests, pushing hard into the leather. He held on like the chair was the only thing keeping him grounded because resisting Ilya in this mood was basically impossible. His fiancé stepped back with deliberate slowness, never breaking eye contact, mischief simmering beneath the heat in his gaze.

Summary
Charlie is actually sorry about a lot of things, a lot of the time – it’s kind of his thing. Sometimes he’s sorry for things he shouldn’t be – like being born (very bad days) – but other times he’s sorry for coming to work on this strange secret project (the days where space vampires try to eat him), and falling in love with a straight man (every day, actually, but also Nick looks like that and he’s secretly a golden retriever, so it’s probably not his fault).
He is, currently, very sorry for touching the blue thing in the lab. Next time, he’ll take the rocks – Tara can have the blue thing. She’ll probably discover the cure for every disease ever, whereas he’s just getting more trauma every time he picks the interesting option. It doesn't really seem fair.

Summary
From the Scots word for ‘seal’, a selkie was a seal who could take on human form. A common element in all the selkie-folk tales, and perhaps the most important, is that in order to shapeshift, they had to cast off their sealskins. Within these magical skins lay the power to return to seal form, and therefore the sea. If this sealskin was lost, or stolen, the creature was doomed to remain in human form until it could be recovered. The most common theme in selkie folklore is one in which a cunning young man acquires, either by trickery or theft, a selkie’s sealskin. This prevents her from returning to the sea, leaving the selkie with no choice but to marry her captor.
