    It was evening when Eddie knocked on Steve's door, hearing Steve shout from inside the house to let himself in, so Eddie did. He slowly wondered around the empty Harrington household as Steve came jogging downstairs, with nothing but a towel on that was wrapped low around his waist. Jesus H Christ. "Hey, sorry, I was showering and lost track of time." He let out a soft chuckle. Eddie was mesmerized by the water dripping down his body, hopefully he wasn't being obvious.

    5 times Steve and Eddie toy around the boundaries of their very close friendship, 1 time they finally take it further.

    Eddie's eyebrows shoot up as high as they can go. His heart is beating a rabbit rhythm against his chest. The floor below him crumbling into an abyss. He’s in free fall here, utterly helpless to the onslaught that is Steve’s confession.

    Drunk confession.

    The reminder does nothing to soften the blow when he feels calloused fingertips on the corner of his eye. “And your laugh lines, I don’t know anybody who has them. Not as deep as yours.” Steve’s fingers drag lower, to his cheeks, and brush against the scars on his jaw. “Has anybody ever told you that you laugh with your entire face?”

     

    OR a reverse 5+1: The one time Steve drunkenly confesses all the things he likes about Eddie and the five times Eddie tries to fluster him with said attributes.

    Eddie Munson leaves a lot. It's okay, because he always seems to come back. And in the meantime, Steve has the tapes for company. He has no idea what that means but it's enough. It's enough to know that Eddie is somewhere in the country, singing the same songs, and that at some point, he'll be back in Steve's bed. It's enough.
