Jason Todd has unfinished business. He is a ghost, possessing his Lazarus strengthened body. The Joker is still living, tormenting Gotham and future Robins.
Jason’s plan was to confront his dad for not killing the Joker, shoot the clown in the head, and then rest. Finally at peace.
Bruce Wayne just wants to hold his son.New Chapter!
I added a darker ending in chapter two, which is why there is the MCD tag. Part one ends with comfort. Part two is pure tragedy. Take this as your warning.

Honestly, Tim was impressed. Bruce had clearly planned what he was going to say ahead of time, and Tim wouldn’t be shocked if it was written down somewhere and then rehearsed. It was firm, yet careful and open. Honest. Communicative. Things Batman usually wasn’t.
Or: Tim catches a cold. He mopes about it. Bruce is there too.

Barry's eyes open again and he sees Bruce looking at him with a fear he's never seen before. Barry feels bad that he's the reason for it.
Concentrating on speaking is hard, but he manages to mumble out an, "Mm sorry."
"Don't—" Bruce looks like he's fighting back tears and the guilt in Barry surges harder. "Jason, I swear to god—"
Barry frowns. Is there someone else in the room with them? "Who's Jason?"
or, Barry gets hurt while on patrol and shows up on Bruce's doorstep without meaning to. Bruce handles it perfectly well and does not panic in the slightest.
