Summary
With the introduction of sound and technicolor films, Baldur's Gate's entertainment district experiences a boom of success, and a downfall of many. One rising star finds herself getting a big break and an even bigger whirlwind of emotions. On-set affairs aren't abnormal for the time, during the golden age of film, but it doesn't make them any less taboo. So why does it have to feel so good all the same?
An exploration of long-form storytelling and the many expressions of grief. (Plus my self-indulgent hyperfixation on old hollywood aesthetics)

Summary
Porky Pig has only been focused on two things: his family and their Kansas farm. Timid, standoffish, a bit awkward, he’s made a point to keep to himself and has no intentions of doing otherwise.
So, when family friend and dressmaker Petunia Pig urges him to come to her Hollywood home on urgent business, only to trick him into auditioning for a role at her workplace of the Warner Bros. studio, it comes as a major and unwilling change. Unable to see the potential Petunia and his superiors see in him, Porky feels like his career as an actor in mid-1930’s Hollywood is a big elaborate joke and a series of walking into walls. It wouldn’t be until a wall came crashing down that he realized his true calling—all thanks to a certain crazy, darn fool, little black duck.

“Love is merely a madness; and, I tell you, deserves as well a dark house and a whip as madmen do; and the reason why they are not so punish'd and cured is that the lunacy is so ordinary that the whippers are in love too.”

Summary
Sherlock Holmes, the immortal character of fiction created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, is ageless, invincible, and unchanging. In solving significant problems of the present day, he remains - as ever - the supreme master of deductive reasoning:
A sinister voice is broadcasting sinister messages over London’s radios, spreading fear and predicting disasters. The British Government is restless, and it asks Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson to investigate these chilling threats and save their country from Nazi invasion.
As tensions rise and Germany looms over democracy and freedom, Holmes' beloved wife, (Y/N), joins the fight - brave-hearted and no stranger to danger. Amid their search for the source, she must navigate the quiet reappearance of someone from her past—an old face that complicates an already perilous mission.
The trio must expose the truth, no matter what the cost. It isn’t always as simple as it seems.

Summary
Los Angeles, 1946. Acclaimed Hollywood actor Emmrich Volkarin has faced decades worth of hardships and scandals. He finds unexpected love when paired with Rook Ingellvar, a rising star, in his next feature film. Time will only tell how this budding romance will play out in Tinsletown…
-
There was a hidden chemistry between the pair that unlocked the instant the cameras rolled, as they exchanged lines so naturally they might as well have been doing it together from the outset. It was no wonder Varric was a staunch supporter. Rook matched his fervour, easily slotting herself into character, giving him something to work with, to play with. And their rapport didn’t vanish into the ether when Iron Bull yelled cut—the air was still charged, his hair standing tall while they dallied around each other, stealing glances that spoke of their brief moment shared in secrecy.

Summary
Hollywood, 1950.
The nights are filled with Sonic’s voice, brilliant and fleeting, like the flash of light reflected in an empty glass. Everyone adores him, yet no one truly knows him. Shadow watches from the dark, performing his duty as a guardian, untouched by the world he’s sworn to protect… until he hears him sing. And something within him falters. Among the echoes of jazz and the secrets fame refuses to forgive, two lonely souls meet on a stage that was never theirs. And when love is born in a place built on illusion, it can only bloom as a quiet tragedy. -

“Won’t we clash?”
“It’s Christmas. We look perfectly paired.”
“I’m not wearing a fake bosom, and I’m not painting that nonsense on my lips. It’s a nightmare to scrub off the glassware.”
Every protestation was making Guy’s smile grow bigger, and he hated it, and he would do anything to see it more.
“God help me. Alright, you’ll have to help me with the bloody buttons. My hand’s acting up in this weather.”One of Guy's bigshot Hollywood friends (a mutual friend of Dorothy, naturally) holds a Christmas bash every year, and the dress code is rather more lenient than Thomas is used to.
Just some Christmas pudding levels of flaming, tooth-rotting sweetness for our favorite Old Hollywood gays. -

Summary
Inspired by reading Arthur Miller's biography "Time Bends" and being intrigued with the love affair and marriage he had with Marilyn Monroe, I wrote this short story based on his six weeks residency in Reno, Nevada in 1956 in order to divorce his former wife. Although I changed the main character's names to those in his 1964 play "After the Fall" (heavily influenced by his relationship with Monroe), and I have played a bit fast and loose with some details of his time in Nevada, it is nevertheless inspired by the true story. It could, indeed, be anyone in his shoes and I wanted to explore his inner thoughts and emotions against the austere beauty of the Nevada landscape. I hope those with an interest in Miller, Monroe, or poetic writing will appreciate it.
I'm planning on three chapters in all (it's a short story), but I may expand it as I go! Stay tuned! 8)

Whatever Happened to Deborah Tennis? by notafraidofrainstorms
Fandoms: All About Evil (2010)

Tags
Summary
May add more chapters, but this fic takes place after Deborah kills her mother, and describes the beginnings of her developing her new persona, as inspired by her father. Kind of want to somehow work in some Deborah x Steven's mom, but that seems like a whole other story perhaps. We'll see! All About Evil and All About Eve are 10/10 movies highly recommend. Deborah Tennis defenders this one's for you.

Summary
One of the most promising actors of his generation, James Dean's raw power on screen transfixed millions of movie goers in the 1950s. His career seemed to be unstoppable, but inside he was a troubled young man still clinging to the memory of a mother he lost in childhood.
Haunted by depression and childhood trauma, James Dean used his pain to create art which still resonates with us today seventy years after his death.
This biographical essay is an attempt by myself, a long time fan of Dean's, to capture the essential moments in his life, to share them with others so they might be interested in checking out his work for themselves.- Language:
