Sweat beaded on Clementine's forehead, soaking into where her hat met her skin. She took it off and wiped the moisture away, then quickly returned the headpiece where it should be.
She sat with her knees up to her chin, looking at the meager food she and Sandra had up in her treehouse.
Five nights ago, people in the streets started screaming as others started eating them. Sandra had rushed Clementine in the treehouse quickly, taking as much food as they could carry up. They stayed there until they ran out of water three days later.
So Sandra snuck down into the house, leaving Clem a hammer “just in case,” promising she'd come back. But instead of coming back, Sandra had screamed very loud, cried very loud, and hadn't come back.
Clementine was very thirsty, and she was running out of chips.

I FINALLY FINISHED THE STORY
I'm not going to lie, I suck at writing summaries. I've written so many versions, and all of them are terrible. So I'll be brief.
Basically, the story follows Clem, Kenny, and baby AJ after the Wellington ending. The story has a bunch of worldbuilding shit with a settlement called Renalia and a group of outcasts that were...you guessed it...outcasted from the main group.
But really, the story is about Clementine and Kenny's relationship. I tried very hard to give an accurate portrayal of Kenny. He is folksy and charming at times, while angry, mean, and downright cruel at others.
And after traveling with Kenny for the past year and a half, Clementine has had no other role model to look up to. She finds herself becoming more like him. And, unfortunately, in their relationship, there's only room for one Kenny.
