Kindness. Cid was not so delicate with his approach the first time, but here he is…unbearably generous. It all makes Clive want to shatter into pieces. Clive opens his mouth to speak, but he finds himself unable to give sound to the words trapped in his throat.
“Get dressed. Pretty as you are, you’re not my type.”
For a moment Clive is thankful the cell chamber is dark enough to obscure the details of his face lest Cid try to use his onset of bashfulness against him. He was hardly embarrassed or bothered by the words the first time around, but something about the way Cid spoke this time around made Clive…
No, he’s being foolish.
Clive closed his eyes on the shores of Valisthea and opened them in the familiar cell of Cid's Hideaway, and now he must contend with how to fix the future without alerting Ultima and how to deal with an oddly protective and overbearing Cid.

With enormous effort, Clive was able to get on his feet and the pain became insufferable. His steps were short, limp, and slow. As he continued to walk, the harder it got to continue, each step was agonizing for him, and it took everything from him to even move his body.
As they got closer to the room of his assignment his strength left the body, leading him to collapse onto the floor. He knew he had to get up, but he had no more energy, and the pain was unbearable, the soldiers then decided they wasted enough time, and simply dragged him on the floor the rest of the way.

Trying something new where I embody not only a character from a first-person point of view, but also writing as if from a scholarly/historian's perspective within the world of Valisthea centuries after the events of the game proper. I find the characters and the world of Final Fantasy XVI to just be endlessly fascinating and full of potential (even if that potential wasn't always reached in game...) Cidolfus Telamon, played to perfection by Ralph Ineson, is by far the best Cid in all the Final Fantasies that I've played, and he just radiates "bisexual dad" vibes. So, in my headcanon, Cid is just that: a bisexual dad, who absolutely gets around. Not to mention Cid is undeniably charismatic and devilishly mysterious, so I wanted to explore a large part of his history - a history we never got to learn over the course of the game narrative. My goal is to accurately and believably portray these characters and to show nuanced and loving relationships, with all the complexity that love, and Cid just carry innately.
